Although Colt's five-shot Paterson, patented in 1836, had made quite a reputation for itself, especially in the fledgling Republic of Texas, fighting the Comanches, the lack of sales caused Colt's Patent Arms Manufacturing Co. to shut down. In 1846, during the war with Mexico, former Texas Ranger Sam Walker, serving with the U.S. Mounted Rifles, sought help from the inventor in hopes of obtaining an improved and more powerful revolver for his men fighting in Mexico. The result was the Walker model, and despite only about 1,100 of these massive six-shooters being produced, this iconic sixgun's power, accuracy and great range helped spread the word of Col. Colt's "repeating pistols," and put him back in the gun business! No region or state made a greater contribution than did Texas in the making of Col. Colt's firearms company, and no weapon played a greater role than did the Colt revolver in the making of Texas and the opening of the American West."

Cimarron's .44 caliber Walker is detail perfect with its 9-inch blued, part-octagon/part-round barrel, back strap, trigger and cylinder, a color case-hardened frame, loading lever and hammer, brass trigger guard and one-piece slim walnut stock. Correct period stampings like "U.S." and "1847" are found on the barrel assembly and the cylinder features the roll-engraved "Ranger and Indian" scene. Cimarron's 1847 Walker is the black powder "magnum" of today!

This thing is a lot of handgun, it's more like a two hand gun. I received mine a few weeks ago and have had the opportunity to shoot it several times. It has worked flawlessly and the word fun does not even begin to describe this gun. It is an excellent replica and very well made. I'm not sure how they holstered this thing back in the day, because it is so heavy. I got an extra cylinder for mine and the #10 percussion caps fit great on this gun. I highly recommend this revolver for anyone looking for a very large black powder firearm.

Received my 1847 Walker Colt from Buds on Monday 3/15. I am a long time customer of Buds having ordered multiple firearms over the years. Buds has great service, fairly quick shipping and a great selection of weapons. Granted, a lot are out of stock or back ordered but be patient, they'll restock and notify you quick.
As far as Uberti and Cimarron go, again great quality and workmanship. I have multiple firearms from Cimarron/Uberti and I couldn't be happier with my purchases. Overall, another fantastic purchase experience with Buds. Keep up the good work.

I received the Cimarron Uberti 1847 Walker black powder revolver today. What a beast!! This beauty weighs as much as my car! It is a gorgeous piece. The fit and finish are impeccable, the action is smooth, and the trigger pull is light and breaks like glass. The bluing and the case hardening look great. Because of the current Covid-19 virus situation, it is hard right now to find even black powder supplies. I've finally found and ordered everything I need to shoot the Walker, and I can't wait for everything to arrive so that I can take it out to the range and put it through its paces.
Bud's was great, as usual, and even though there was a delay of almost 3 weeks between order and receipt, Bud's kept me advised by email of the status of my order. I think they are doing a great job under very trying circumstances. Also, Bud's deserves one more prop. In a prior review of this revolver, another purchaser had high praise for this gun, but pointed out that Bud's description of the gun as a "Walker Dragoon" was incorrect, since the Walker and the Dragoon were in fact different revolvers (the Walker was the predecessor of the Dragoon). That reviewer felt that the misnomer reflects badly on Bud's credibility. In Bud's defense, the tag on the end of the Cimarron/Uberti box in which my Walker was received says "CIMARRON FIREARMS Co., 1847 WALKER DRAGOON 9" .44, PART #CA020." Bud's is merely using the same nomenclature that Cimarron uses to describe the gun.

This walker replica I can truly say is very different and unique gun And is my favorite blackpowder gun that I own. The gun came in a very timely manner from Kentucky to Texas. Overall the gun has been truly a great investment. If I wanted to nitpick at anything I guess there would be about 5 things. Number 1 the loading lever falls which is a very common occurrence with the Walker not a big deal being an easy fix. 2 the fit on the right side of the handle is slightly bigger than the frame "which I dont mind one bit and is unnoticeable when shooting". 3 for people who want as historical as can be there is "adress cimarron Fredericksburg Texas" on top of hex "again not really worried about it". 4 being the manual it came with more or less it's kinda crap honestly but YouTube is the go to for any problem. 5 the screws are made of very soft steel so be careful with takedown. The 2 nitpicks 1 and 2 can be boiled down to the gun itself and is not a true representation for all the walkers from uberti. I have shot it about 100 time so far and can say with factory nipples I have had only one cap jam. The timing I can say also is very awesome. The finish is flawless and the cold case hardening looks very terrific. .454 balls make a very small ring of lead and sometimes not at all so I think the .457 balls might be a better fit. I would buy another of these if I had more money.

First off I want to say that this is not a walker dragoon. there is no such thing. a walker and a dragoon are 2 different guns and I would like to see buds fix this part in the title as it kind of throws off credibility. Now, all I can say is holy cow this is a beast!!! and I havent even shot it yet. been eyeing these for a while and finally found one that wouldnt break the bank. best part while unboxing, was seeing the uberti box it came in. love ubertis
