I am a big fan of the 1860 and when I saw this I just had to have it in..especially in my favorite caliber of 45 LC...what a nice edition to my small collection...Bud's was flawless as they were on other purchases...a super firearm from Buds!

This is a beautiful revolver. Many shooters and gun enthusiasts are of the opinion that it is possibly one of the best-looking revolvers ever made. The fit and finish was outstanding. I would have given it 5 stars, but my revolver had problems with it jamming when firing. It seemed to get better after I fired it more but hopefully it needs to be broken in and the problem will resolve itself. The revolver was accurate with really good groups at 25 yards. Hopefully with time it will overcome the rough start, or I will have to work on it to make it run smooth. I still recommend this revolver though.

If you want a pretty gun this is it. A fan of Westerns all of my life I never thought id have one of these guns. A new piece of old history. Absolutely a must have for historians and enthusiast. I use hornady 45 cowboy loads and this gun performs well.. Love it

This pistol is accurate because of the 8" barrel, she doesn't kick much so target acquisition is smooth. Workmanship is excellent, everything is tight on this revolver. Me with big hands wish the handle was longer, but I got used to it, no worries.

Shoots nicely too!!

This is the pistol of my dreams. I read some of the 1 star reviews and frankly, no offense intended, but theyre just ignorant and have no idea how to deal with this type of pistol. If there is a gap its because your not seating it right. If your having issues taking it apart, thats a common problem that goes away. Take a piece of thick leather or a towel and insert a screwdriver between the frame and the barrel and gentle push it out. It will loosen after you do this a few times and you'll be able to do it by hand after a few times. I would suggest buying the plastic training rounds because this is not a gun that can be dry fired but needs to have the burrs worked out and the best way to do so is to fire the gun. After 50 rounds I have no trouble with the action on the cylinder, the hammer, or anything for that matter. Everything works beautifully. This is a pistol that needs to be taken care of. Its not a glock. Its not a ruger. This is a piece of art that happens to be a damn fine weapon. And you need to treat it as such. If the gun is not seating correctly when being put back together get a thick towel and a rubber mallet and gently tap the barrel until it is fully seated. This will not damage the weapon or put the sites off. And again, after taking it apart a few times, it fixes itself. Maybe you feel you shouldnt have to do these things for a weapon like this, at a cost of 500$ but like all things it has some kinks that need to be worked out. My ruger SR9C had some issues as well. My Walther PPS had a "dirty" trigger and needed to be filed down. These are brand new weapons. The Cimmarron Transition model is no different, and if you spend the time with it you will find a gun that is simply amazing. I made a 70-80 yd head shot (the longest distance the range had) which I could never do with a semi auto pistol. The 8" barrel makes this weapon incredibly accurate. I shoot left hand duelist and practice firing with the plastirounds in the chamber constantly. And its working like a charm. There are only two positions for this gun. 1/4 cock (safety) and full cock. You should never let the hammer go from anywhere but full cock and never dry firre it without the plastic rounds in it or it will dull the firing pin and eventually ruin it. Its a softer metal than the plate inside the action, so you need to have something softer, like a primer, for the firing pin to hit. Take care of this gun and it will be the best firearm you've ever owned. I have shot SAWs, 240 Bravo's, M16's, M14, AR's, 44 Magnum, 38's, the list is long. Never have I fired a weapon that I love as much as the Transition Navy Pistol. Its a dream to fire. Unbelievably accurate, especially when the sites are a forward site and a scratch. My only regret is that I cant CCW it. An 8" barrel is just a tad too big to carry concealed, and I do not open carry. So the Ruger or the Walther stay with me at all times but when I go to the range im always using the Cimmarrron. Learn your weapon and youll love it too.

I was very pleased with this revolver at first. Nice blue finish, case color and grip to frame fit. The gun functioned smoothly and was fun to shoot. After my second time shooting and subsequent cleaning/reassembly I noticed the hammer could not be cocked back/and cylinder would not rotate. I tried smoothing parts, removing burrs but was unable to get this revolver to cock and cylinder to rotate. There is mention of this problem in the manual, but not in detail. Cimarron does not have Tech. Support, so I am awaiting shipping instructions to send it back to be repaired and returned to me.

Grip has gaps & not fitted well; expect better from Cimarron. Colt's patent dates are larger than correct size found on previous models. Why? Action & lock up good.

I have wanted one of the pistols for a very long time and finally had the funds to get one thanks to Buds low price. Fired 100 rounds at my local indoor range from 15 feet to 50 feet, and I've got to say that I was impressed with this pistols accuracy with the pretty crude sights. With my hand loads I was shooting one hole groups at 15 feet out to 4 to six inch at 50, love that 8 inch barrel. I had no malfunctions of any kind other that the pistol was stiff, but shooting will take care of that. This weapon is extremely well made and a beautiful piece of the old west, you won't regret buying this pistol

it will be fine with any standard 45 lc ammo but they are best with the lower power "cowboy " loads https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/719016414/hsm+ammo+cowboy+action+45+lc+250gr+rnfp-hard+50rd+box
