Exact copy of early 1st generation Single Action Army. Features an early Colt style hammer with early heavy knurling for a better thumb grip. No safety is visible in the hammer. Early two line patent dates on frame, serial number placement as on early Colts, parts interchange with the originals and barrel markings are sized to look like Colt. Actions are tuned to three pound trigger pull. Internal working surfaces of parts are polished. One piece walnut grips. Frames are forged steel and come Pre-War and Old Model Color Case Hardened. Blued finish.

As usual, Buds was easy to work with and the gun was shipped promptly. This gun is everything I expected. It is beautiful, fit and finish is spot on and the action is smooth as butter. Can hardly wait to get to the range and put a few rounds through it. If you’re in the market for a single action revolver I highly recommend adding this gun to your collection.

Beautifully built and finished revolver for a wonderful price at Buds. Fixed firing pin, 4 click hammer just like it's supposed to be and what I've always shot. Greg at Cimarron was great and answered all my questions and was a big help in helping me pick out the real deal. I had bought a Uberti Cattleman II with the safety spring hammer and 3 click action, it was nice but just wasn't the same. Kind of like shooting the 2 screw NM Blackhawks after you have had the old model with 3 screws.

Nice looking gun side by side with my STD SA 5.5 inch barrel. Cylinder rotation a little rough in one spot. I think i can ear 4 clicks when cocking the hammer. For the price, a great revolver. I am going to buy another to have a pair.

Nice case colors/bluing and seems well put together. Authentic 4-click action. Shoots to point of aim. Compares favorably with my Colts at a fraction of the price. If you want a shooter, I'd definitely recommend. Very happy with my purchase.

This Cimarron (Old) Model P is my first Single Action pistol and my first Cimarron product, and so far I'm very impressed. Fit and finish on this .45LC SAA is excellent, and by all comparisons this is a near exact duplicate of the original 1873 Colt Peacemaker. I'm now seriously considering completing my 'Old West' set with a .45LC Cimarron 1873 (Winchester) Sporter lever rifle. Buds has the lowest asking price, so far.

Very nice gun, cocks smooth and cylinder rotates well. Spent casings come out smooth and easy and the ejector rod works well. Blueing and color case hardening look good, grips look like nice quality wood. Pretty accurate too.
THIS MODEL IS A 4 CLICK GUN.
This gun as well as all other "old model" model P's have all 4 clicks, and Cimarron said in an email they don't plan to ever change that, contrary to an answer on a question for this gun on this site.
This gun comes with the flush period correct cylinder pin screw, as well as one that is a little longer with texture engraved around the head so you can remove it without the use of a screwdriver.
My only complaint is one of the screws in the frame was loose and partially backed out when I got it.

Very nice and very well made, timing spot on and very accurate. I was sad to hear that Uberti went to a floating firing pin safety in the hammer on most of their SAAs which is why I purchased the older type SSA (Black powder frame, but can still fire modern ammo) with the screw to hold the cylinder in place. Buy one before they add the extra safety on this type as well. If you can't find or afford a Colt SSA, this is the next best option.
