Product as described. If you have the P226 and want to shoot some cheap practice rounds a good buy. Personally if I didn't have to go through the process of applying for another handgun permit to get a Mosquito I probably would have gone ahead with that, but this is a simple solution. Runs fine so far (need High Velocity ammo).

First transaction with Buds and am trying my first transfer from Buds as we speak. Hopefully all goes as well as this first one.

This is a great kit. Doesn't feel too light, giving you a more correct feel to the gun. The best part was it shot my all time favorite ammo, CCI Blazer. Only put about 100rds through it, but no trouble right the gate. But as other reviews say, plastic guide rod.

I actually bought this before buying my P226 (long story and not relevent for this review). I was very lucky too because it looked like I got the last one of Bud's present stock. As a note, I ask you to read the short review by Evan T, below, for some other valuable information. I found it extremely helpful, especially when my kit did not look like the picture. So, after finally getting my P226 I went to the range with this kit. Posts in forums said that it would only use one kind of ammo, so I was prepared. Actually, I was able to shoot a couple of different kinds and maybe more - I only had two kinds with me. The biggest drawback of this kit is that it does not hold the slide back after the last round. Especially when they say that Dry-Firing will cause damage! You would have to count the shots. A solution is this: I found some excellent after-market parts for this kit on-line. One is a modified Magazine Follower. This part is a "must have". It is designed to hold the slide open after the last round and works great. Another is a Stainless Steel guide rod. This looks better (like the picture) and adds a bit of weight to the piece. The same person also makes and sells replacement plugs and springs to allow your magazine to hold 15 rounds (if your State permits that).
The biggest plus for this kit is that you can practice all day with the same fit and feel (minus the recoil, of course) of your P226 for a fraction of the cost. The price of this kit (at Bud's) was way less than other places I checked so I was very happy. It comes in a "hard-shell" case with one 10-round (polymer) magazine and a flat screwdriver to adjust the sights. It is a very quick install - just rotate the takedown lever on your P226, remove your old slide and magazine and replace with these.
One final note: I was told at the range that they had tried this kit on a Stainless Steel P226 and it would not fit. They said it would only work with the aluminum frame models. This is just an FYI and I am passing it on to be helpful - and possibly avoid an RMA.
