In the past several months I have modified about 1/2 dozen AK's for buyers that wanted something a little different and a little better than the "plain Jane". Among every one I modified there were two things I did even if it were the only modifications made. Those being a new pistol grip and a new break. On all but one the break I used was this Tapco AK 74 style. Compared to the standard slant break, these look awesome on the rifle and frankly function much better. This break will put you back on target faster than the standard break and you don't have to break the bank to buy one either. You can do better by paying a lot more as I did on one rifle but for the money, this is a very good product.

Note on installation: This thing is a breeze to install but I did run into one problem when putting it on a couple WASR 10 rifles. When you screwed down as far as you were going to be able to go with the locking pin there was still a quarter turn left so the break was not snug and had a very slight wobble. This can be taken care of via a washer however I found a quick and easy fix that has so far worked and not caused any trouble at all. That is in fact, making your own washer or spacer to be more exact. If you take a twist tie off a bread bag and clean off all the paper/plastic you will be left with a clean wire that is perfect size. First you pre fit and cut the wire as to fit between the break and the barrel and when you put the break on it will snug perfectly. I also use a drop of blue lock tight. This (the wire) may sound odd ball to you but, it works and it works very well.
