SAMSON STAR SIG 556 3-HOLE RFL Black

I was hesitant to buy this handguard for quite some time, mostly due to cost. But the loose plastic guards on the 556r finally got to me one day. Not that they are horrible but just so annoying.
Doing some research the Samson handguards were/are about the only option so I decided to order them. As a side note Buds shipped them the same day I ordered them and they arrived in less than two days. Bravo Zulu Buds!!!
The instructions to install weren't perfectly clear to me so I did have to get online for some additional help. Still it took less than 15 minutes to install and they are rock steady. Very pleased with ease of installation and operability. If I had known this or rather bought these sooner I would have forgone the flip sight that mounts on the rifle and just used a folding back up sight at the front of the rail. Nonetheless a great product from Samson.
Pay attention to the type you need for your rifle and follow the instructions for the screws on the receiver for a perfect fit.
My only complaint, and I did not realize this until installing is that you'll lose the bayonet mount. Living in a Free State I added the lug years ago, not that I've ever used it, but it was a nice to have option. Oh well, at least I have a steady mount for my optics and accessories.
Bottom Line Up Front: Samson equals quality, well designed and easy to install. A bit more than I would normally pay for handguards but now that they are on, I wouldn't change it for the world and I am very happy.

Excellent product. This hand guard is a big improvement over the plastic guard that came on the sig. Along with having side and bottom rails (which give you almost limitless customization options), this aluminum rail is sturdier and does not rattle like the origional.

Quad rail is great! It makes my Sig 556 look more aggressive and feels more solid. Way better than the plastic hand guards it came with. I would of rated it 5 stars, but I was having an issue with one of the screws going in on the bottom of the rail. Couldn't get the screw started at all. Luckily I had a 10/32 tap and was able to chase the threads so that the screw would go in. Other than that, the rest of the install was normal. I would definitely recommend this product.
