Constructed by molding a super strong rigid fiberglass reinforced skeleton or insert that precisely fits the guns' action. This rigid skeleton is then OverMolded with a durable but soft synthetic elastomer (rubber). During the heat and extreme pressure of injection molding the elastomer adheres chemically as well as mechanically to the skeleton resulting in a permanent bond between the rubber and the insert.

Am very happy with this Hogue product. My Mini 14 is pretty old, has a bayonet lug on the barrel and no scope mounting grooves on receiver, but was still able to fit into this new stock. Easy to install and looks a lot better then the scruffed up wood of my old stock, which I usually prefer, wood to synthetic that is. For $52, think I will recoup that down the road if I try to sell the gun, vs if I tried doing that with my old stock still on there.
