The YHM S.L.R.(Slim, Light, Rail) Slant series handguards were designed to address the two main customer requests regarding the current handguard models. The number one request was to make a thinner handguard so the SLR series of handguards are YHM's slimmest line of handguards. The second most common request was to design a handguard that would accept most aftermarket piston systems. The profile of the SLR allows for most piston systems to be used while maintaining a top rail that co-witnesses with the upper receiver. YHM also redesigned the top rail so that when installed it creates one continuous picatinny rail between the upper receiver and the handguard. The front 3.5" of the SLR Slants are quad rails, with customizable rails behind this at the 6 O'clock position.
