Don't believe some of the hype about this gun... believe ALL of it! This is truly an AWESOME gun. Its a bit heavy, more suited to hold down a position than going mobile. It is very well made and the recoil is virtually non-existent. I had no FTF or FTE and shot around 150 rounds first time out. It has an adjustable gas block which is nice. The trigger is a bit on the heavy side (nothing a quick trigger job could not fix). For the price, you can't go wrong. It's very accurate and fun to shoot. Buy one.

I am a 30 year Marine Colonel and I also build guns as a hobby so I know quality and weapons engineering when I see it and this MPAR 256 has it all. I challenge anyone to buy or build one with these bells and whistles and not be looking at $1800 to $2000 price tag. For those that are not familiar with Masterpiece Arms, this is not the same company that most people think of when they hear Masterpiece Arms. It was sold in 2008 to a gentleman that stresses quality control, engineering, customer service and products that are innovative from the norm. All parts are made on site in Georgia except for the polymer stuff like pistol grips and stocks. That way they have complete control of quality and are not dependent on parts suppliers. The barrel is from a E.R. Shaw blank but the cutting and workmanship is done in house. If you want a 300 Blackout, they sell a upper for $299 and can be swapped out on this 5.56 lower. Did I say lifetime warranty. If you do have a problem, call them and it will be fixed.

this is an amaizing rifle, got mine in a hard case, with one mag, shoot 500 rounds of very sheep ammo and great gun, i will give it a 11 on a 10 scale, why because its not 1500 dollars and yet it works like one. thanks to BUDS for the extra fast shipping....

Masterpiece Arms has come out with an incredible weapons system with their MPAR 556 Gen II. Having recently retired from the military and most of those years as a Green Beret, I did not want to clean another M4 weapon! I got into the AKs and still felt the need to own a 5.56x45 NATO weapon. I've been watching the MPAR 556 development since inception, and decided to purchase the Gen II version when I learned that it would have the bold hold-open feature as well as an adjustable gas block (reminiscent of the M249 SAW and variants). I waited, and waited, for the release. Bud's had the best price, so the purchase was set in my mind. This weapon is in my opinion, is as "solid" feel as the M4, and more, I do believe. They have come up with an incredible firearm. How nice it is, and what an entirely new application, to now have a 5.56 battle rifle with a folding stock, to "compete" along those lines with the FAL and the SIG weapon systems. Truly a gorgeous and unbelievably awesome firearm. I've been to the range with the MPAR 556 Gen II twice so far (the past 2 weekends) and she has performed as I expected; flawlessly and beautifully. Firing with open sights as well as an ACOG, it was a Heaven-on-Earth experience, let me tell you. This weapon is as accurate as I imagined it would be, too. Dealing with Masterpiece Arms has been pure joy as well. I have been nothing but impressed with them; answers to my questions have been prompt and thorough. I had a reply from Phil, the President of Masterpiece Arms, which quickly let me know that this outfit is very much interested in customer satisfaction. I couldn't be happier, and have NEVER had such incredible customer relation with any other firearm manufacturer. Of note, I have never owned (or considered) a Masterpiece Arms weapon until I saw the MPAR 556. I'm waiting for arrival of a quality holographic sight that will arrive today, so it will be "back out to the range" tomorrow. Can't wait...! So there is a weapon called an Australian Automatic Arms SAP 5.56 that the MPAR 556 has obviously drawn much of its internal design from; almost like the "next generation" of this weapon. The adjustable gas block system is an incredible addition. Yes, I think of the AR-180, and the FAL when I work with the MPAR 556. Now that I know of the AAA SAP 556 (which I had never heard of nor seen before), it is in the mix as well. This is a gorgeous weapon. If you are thinking of buying, "take the plunge;" you won't be disappointed. This comes with a LIFETIME WARRANTY as well; who could argue with that? BT
