Armalite 10 + 1 308 Win. Tactical Rifle/20" Black Barrel/Bla - Blue/Black, 20" Barrel, 10+1 Rounds, Synthetic, Fixed Stock

Nice rifle heavy to carry

This is the real deal, an AR10 in 7.62x51. Very powerful cartridge, ballistic equivalent to the early military 30-06 round in a shorter package. The rifle is flawless, runs perfect with my reloads from too easy right up to the first signs of overpressure. Runs extremely smooth, too, with about half the felt recoil of an FAL or G3. At 100 yards my AR15s ring the 12" steel with authority; but the AR10 slaps it around! There is no mistaking the impact of the 308 in comparison with the 223. Bowling pins are another great separator; the 223 knocks 'em down pretty good, the 7.62 shoots THROUGH them, and they go flying and spinning. 8^) One thing you need to know: This is an AR10(b), it's not straightforward. Listed as an AR10A4BF, I thought it was an AR10A... it's not. An AR10A would be listed as an AR10A A4BF, and that's not a model Armalite is presently producing. Be very careful about which one you are looking at, the only real difference is whether the rifle uses the M14 style steel magazine (AR10(b)) or the old Armalite design Magpul magazine (AR10A). The b in AR10(b) is not normally used, they refer to the b models as simply AR10. That's why I include the 'b' in parenthesis. Watch your step, confirm, verify. Both rifles are awesome, and in fact the steel magazines will accomodate longer rounds; the magpul is pretty much restricted to spec, inside front to back measures 2.830", the M14 or Armalite gen II mags measure 2.900" with my digital calipers. BTW, I have a couple of new in wrapper Magpul 20 round 762 magazines for sale... ;-)

Great gun, bought for deer and hog hunting. First time out, I shot five hogs in about ten seconds. The 308 is a great cailiber for both deer and hogs although I did not shoot the buck on my dreams last fall. Buds Guns has the best prices anywhere and processing/shipping time is excellent. Bought this weapon from Bud's and just took it to the range for a break in with my son and nephew. The weapon fired flawlessly, chewing through 100 rounds of Prvi Partizan match grade 168 grain, producing tight groupings. The gun is beautiful, fit and finish excellent....and is an absolute beast, despite the fairly modest recoil. Will penetrate 3/8" plate steel.....no kidding! I feel fortunate to have found this at Bud's and their service, despite being inundated with orders, was outstanding (not the case my last transaction!). If you are looking for an AR10 chambered in .308, this gun should be considered...it is an outstanding weapon!
