My son & I purchased this .270 in August 2011 for his hunting rifle. We put talley one piece mounts and a Nikon scope on it. He put at least 100 rounds through it while practicing for deer season. It shoots flawlessly and he loves the synthetic stock. We went hunting in SC and he took 2 deer the first week out in the woods ! The bolt works perfectly, the saftey is smooth and the trigger pull is perfect right from the factory. If I didn't already have a Winchester mod 70 I would purchase this Vanguard in a heartbeat !!!
