Pistol caliber carbines deliver better accuracy, velocity, and recoil control than their handgun counterparts and JRC's latest Carbine delivers all that and more.

It's well-built, take-down portable, fully ambidextrous, and most importantly, a lot of fun to shoot. If you like the idea of one-cartridge convenience or if you want to get in some range time with an AR-15 without spending a fortune on 5.56 ammo, the JRCTM Pistol Caliber Carbine is right up your alley.

Might want to advertise these as Just Wrong Carbine. I bought the Takedown model in 9mm Glock. The trigger was pretty stinko so I went to the JRC website and the owner was there talking about modular parts and AR compatible triggers so I went to my local gun shop and looked at a trigger upgrade. $120 worth. Before I bought one though I emailed Just Right Carbine to ask a question about triggers. No reply. So, I went to the website again, double checked the compatibility claim and ordered the $120 upgraded trigger. It did not work in the JR Carbine. I called JR Carbine and they said, sorry about that. The owner told me to purchase a specific brand of AR trigger and even gave me the part number. The second trigger was $180. I bought it and had it gunsmith installed. It did not work in my JR Carbine. I called JR Carbine and the woman said owner was on "a conference call". She would put my note on his desk. He'd get back to me. No call back. I then emailed my question hoping to get a suggestion as to how to make "something" work. No reply. This is not a normal business. Buyer beware.

I took my JRC to the range yesterday. It was a big hit! It worked flawlessly, easy to shoot and lots of fun. Everybody was want a turn shooting it. The break down is so simple and quick for transport. I think there will be a few more individuals will be purchasing these after yesterday's day at the range.

Already owning a Hi Point 995TS 9mm carbine I wanted to have a compact, high round capacity carbine that was compatible with my Glock pistol mags. After a lot or research I decided the JR Carbine Takedown was the answer. Having put a several hundred rounds through the JR Carbine I have to say I really like it. Went with a Vortex Spitfire scope and had it zeroed in just a few shots. Extremely accurate on the 50 yard range but easy and fun to shoot . I have used various cheap ammo and mags with zero issues. I have used Glock 32 round mags as well as cheap Chinese, and Korean 30 round mags again with no problem. Now I just want a 100 round drum! Fit and finish was perfect with no imperfections that I could find and came with an OEM Glock mag. Does require 2 different allen wrenches and a castle nut wrench to fully break it down for cleaning. It would have been nice if instead of using allen bolts they had used take down pins, but it's not overly difficult to disassemble. The handguard unscrews easily allowing you to remove the barrel and easily stow the gun in a pack or bag. As others mention there is no last round hold open, but that is true with several pistol caliber carbines. I did upgraded the grip which was easy since the JR is based on the AR.

I bought one of these about 6 six years ago and had nothing but problems with it. I recently bought the takedown 9mm version after researching on the internet and hearing so many positive things about it. So I went ahead and took the plunge. First, I tell you everything I like about the gun. Its lightweight, easy to maneuver. It disassembles easily once you read and understand the manual. IT IS DEPENDABLE. I finally was able to trounce though the snow to get to my shooting spot and shot 733 rounds through it. I had 6 jams but these were all from old 33 round mags and always the last 3 rounds. Oh I forgot to mention, it takes glock magazines. how cool is that? I was shooting reman rounds and it seemed to eat those up with no issues. Now the bad things-- there is no bolt hold open on last round. I have an Olympic Arms 9mm AR 15 and it does have hold open on last round. To break it down you take off the barrel (easy- it screws right off) You can remove the magwell and trigger housing, which just leaves you with the receiver and stock. Take your ar stock wrench and remove the stock. Then remove the hex screw on the charging handle. Remove the charging handle and the bolt will slide out the back of the receive. You open the bolt by twisting 90 degrees and it will separate the bolt from the bolt carrier. From there its a cylindrical retainer, firing pin and firing pin spring So the only thing that I really really like about it is reassembling the stock back onto the receiver and getting it straight. you definitely need a vise for this. all and all thumbs up for JRC
