This Hi Point is incredible in appearance, style and capability. The 40 cal has about as much recoil as my 40 cal handgun, maybe less. The gun is build to withstand years of use as long as you continue regular cleaning. Rugged in appearance yet built to hit the target on all counts. What I've learned is and according to the law of "supply and demand" you had best buy one today before the price goes up again, it has since I purchased.

Nice Gun, recoil was very mild, it is not loud or heavy, I like the peep sights. Out of the box I was hitting a pie plate at 75 yards. I rapid fired a full clip and it responded flawlessly. If you want to buy the add-ons like the forearm, mag holders, lights ect buy them directly from the Hi-Point factory with the enclosed order form because they are cheaper from the factory than Ebay where I bought mine. Rather than fight with the charging handle read the enclosed instructions, it takes a little time to understand it but once you get it and cycle it a few times it is a breeze. I watched a video on youtube that showed how to install the included nylon carrying strap. I am more than satisfied.

First 85 rounds over several weeks went without a problem (home cast lead flat nose), then it started jamming, firing chamber was dry, a light application of gun oil and back in business again. seems to be a good firearm and cheaper then quite a few others, just remember its a semi-auto and oil is their friend. clips are single stack but they are not flimsy, factory ones hold 10 rounds and if you need more pro mag makes a 15 rounder that works as well as factory mags, I have 2 of them, with modification they will also fit the 40 pistol. Well worth the money.

So, I got my Hi Point 4095 last Saturday, took it home and ran a wad down the bore, and took it out to the range today. I put 10 rounds of round nose factory JHP and 40 rounds of my own cast lead semi-wad-cutter shaped reloads. Not a problem. I own 5 handguns, a shotgun, a 270 deer rifle, a .22 and an AR15. I may have found my new favorite firearm! I love it. Plus it is not ugly. I think it is just 'cool' to continue to call this rifle ugly. My FFL said his brother owns the 9mm version and that he is going to get one too. I was deadly accurate with this carbine. I highly recommend it. You can shoot this piece all day because it has almost no recoil. BTW, it comes with only one magazine. I ordered the two magazine set that comes with a fixture that holds two mags mounted on the stock. If you are debating purchasing this rifle, go for it. You won't be disappointed.

When I pulled the gun out of the box I looked at the sights and thought wow these suck. I took it to the range and was very impressed by how well it shot, guess you can't judge a book by it's cover (which is bulky and cheap plasticy looking) I like this carbine a lot, I only wish they had gone with a common proven magazine design like the Beretta 92 or Glock mag instead of these flimsy single stack mags.
