Howa-Legacy+ 6.5CR 10X44 - Blue/Black, 22" Barrel, 5+1 Rounds, Synthetic, Black Hogue Stock

Nice firearm, shoots as it should!!!!!

I was able to get my new Howa 1500 out to the range today and couldn't be happier - with both the rifle and Bud's. For the rifle it is just as advertised , a good solid shooter for the guy on a budget that had obviously had been factory bore sighted as it was dead-on when I began the barrel break-in procedure as Legacy sports recommends. It showed little copper fouling that one might expect from a factory-new bore as I ran patches through between shots indicating that the folks at Howa do a good job in their boring/rifling process. From the start with consecutive shots touching at moderate range the accuracy potential from its 22" light barrel was displayed and after a box and a half of Remington 140 grain pspcl's I would confidently take it into the field - can hardly wait for deer season ! My one inquiry by chat with the staff at Bud's (contact was only in anxious anticipation) was handled promptly and professionally. It arrived in good time to my local FFL dealer and as Bud's had kept me informed of the delivery date I was able to be there for the "unveiling" before the longest ten day wait in my recent experience. It was superbly packaged with the factory box looking like it had just come off the shelf showing that even with free shipping Bud's cares about customer satisfaction and follows through. I will definitely keep Bud's on the top of my list for future purchases.

Gun - scope combo is a bit on the heavy side, but manageable. Scope needed some adjusting. In following Howa breakin requirements, groups were tight, better than 1 MOA, using Hornady Black 140gr BTHP. 5 shots inside 1/2" @ 50yds, 3 holes touching. Barrel cools fairly quickly. Action is smoooooth, weight makes for soft recoil, nice butt pad helps. Gun does not kick up much on recoil and is quick to bring back target to sight field even at high magnification. Decent scope, not great, clear glass, turret knobs VERY tight. Not sure how easily they will work in the field. LOP good for me; cheek position not even close (aftermarket cheek riser needed). I like the three-position safety. Nicely located, positive action, easy to detect safety position. The gun has a solid, expensive, custom gun quality feel about it. No doubt about it. Just look at all the other firearm manufacturers using the same barreled action in their quality offerings. And a lifetime guarantee that doesn't even require registration with Legacy. At the price of lesser bargain guns. Bud's purchase process was easy. Just make the payment and tell your favorite FFL to send Bud's an email with a copy of their FFL info. I'm very satisfied with the purchase experience. Very satisfied with Bud's. I have done repeat business with them and will probably do more repeat business with them. They've earned my trust and earned my business.

Great service from Buds,received gun in three days.The howa is a great gun,shoots good and looks good.Nikko Sterling scope took a bit to get zeroed but now that it is it shoots MOA. I'm giving it 4 stars not 5 but that's due to the scope being so far off out of the box.

For the money you cannot beat this rifle it's got a amazing trigger! The game king feels like a more expensive rifle but has a great price! The only thing I did not like was the scope which is not a bad scope.

For the money..............this is a fine rifle. Easily worth twice the price. Well engineered and accurate out of the box! Bud's always delivers a consistent product. Purchased many firearms from Bud's........always good service!!!!! The 6.5 round and the Legacy Howa were made for each other...........cannot see anything bad about this $400 rifle. Love it!
