After a lot of research, I decided on the Marlin mod 60 for out of the box accuracy and reliability. The factory sights and trigger are nothing special, but I knew that beforehand and it didn't surprise me. Having said that, after a quick 25 yard zero on a pine cone, I proceeded to bag 6 jackrabbits in one weekend, one at about 70 yards. The tube mag is slow to reload, but I won' ever have to by mags for the rifle. Additionally, mine holds 15 rounds, one more than the manual says. I plan on upgrading to tech sights and a DIProducts trigger to round out the rifle. The plastic stock also makes this rifle a great survival/prep rifle. But if you're looking for a very reasonably priced .22 rifle with great accuracy and reliability, look no further than this rifle.

bada$$ little gun. ordered it july 16 and picked it up from my FFL dealer on the 20th. Awesome work by buds. i love the fact that they keep you informed the whole time. and the speedy delivery......... deff gonna get a scope and bi-pod for it. its a fun little gun to shoot and really cheap to shoot too. for a 150 bucks you can't beat it. i love Marlins they're great reliable guns. my next is a Marlin 30-06 bolt action and i cant wait to get it.

Absolutely the most fun gun I've ever owned....

In my youth I had shot the Remington Nylon 66, and I was wanting something similar...cheap, reliable, fun for the kids to shoot!

Tubes are a little awkward to load, right? Well not with my new found spee d loader (google it) I bring a rag to hold the gun, so I won't burn myself, and we've gone thru boxes and boxes of ammo at the range....

The gun is super easy to take down and clean, just follow the directions, and the 2nd time it'll be a breeze. We got the black synthetic with blued stock and mounted a bi-pod also back...very tactical, and it makes it super steady for the kids.

I wanted to mount a scope, and I had a cheap chinese scope laying around from an air rifle...well, I must have torqued it down too much and I broke the scope mount off the gun. I called Marlin, who did not offer to pay for shipping....and would not tell me if it was warrantied or not....weird...

My next gun is a Henry youth gun, H001y, for the kids and maybe a H001T lever action for myself.

I heard that Henry's customer service is awesome, but back to this gun...

Many swear by the ruger 10/22, which I do not own...This marlin is very very very reliable, and have that ol' reliable feeling about it...with bulk federal ammo...you can go hundreds and hundreds of rounds, nary a hang up....we had some initial trouble with remington but that too cleared itself...

I was ready to by a second, while the first is getting fixed, but I now turn to Henry, since my kids say that 2 of the same guns would not be twice the fun...I agree!

Buy this gun and the loader w/o hesitation!

Buds: please start carrying that spee d loader...it works so well that I just ordered a second...

the gun works just fine, but Bud's really needs to make a better effort to accurately represent the product. this gun is available as the gun only or with a factory mounted scope. the image clearly shows it with a scope. the gun arrived with no scope. $150 is too much for a 22 rifle with no scope. i could have gotten it for less at my local sporting goods store.
none the less the quality is good and it is fun for me and my 7 year old son.
