This is my 3rd Marlin X7. Awesome trigger. Adjusts down to 2.5 lbs, and has zero creep. Crisp, clean break.

Marlin may not be a luxurious name, but this gun beats the heck out of the Rem 770 and Savage Axis.

I am OK out to just past 300 yards, but have had friends that are much better shots than me shoot my X7's farther. You don't have to go broke on a good gun. This one can out shoot me and my skill level any day of the week.

Bought this one strictly for inexpensive 100-300 yard target practice, and have no regrets. Keep in mind that the XTVH has a VERY thick, heavy bull barrel on it, so if you are going to be packing it through the woods, be aware. If you will be sitting in a box blind, or for target practice, you can't go wrong.

Also, the barrel is not floated, but I have no issues with bedding it.

My advice, order this gun from Bud's and bump up your scope budget. You won't regret.

You've got to love these low budget Marlin bolt action rifles (made in USA). I have the XT22mr as well, also from Buds, which was my favorite bolt action rifle until I upgraded to this 223. In case you were wondering this is the X7VH and not the XTVH, which confused me at first. The rifle is truly amazing for the price. Received it 8 of the longest days of my life after ordering and immediately took it to the range where it performed flawlessly. The rifle is very accurate and operates great. The trigger is crisp. The butt pad is cushy and there is little recoil especially with the 223 round. It also feels nice and is very front heavy due to the enormous barrel on this beast. I'm looking forward to taking some 400+ yard shots with it!
