I recently purchased my ABA Howa 1500 precision 6.5 Creedmoor rifle from budsgunshop. Shortly after I purchased an ammo boost Howa 1500 ATIM10R65CR creedmoor magazine from budsgunshop as a spare. As I install the new magazine, it does not lock in place? Is this normal? Charlie

How low can the trigger be adjusted?

The factory setting is preset at 3lbs - the adjustment range is 2lbs to 4.5lbs. The HACT trigger assembly is a completely redesigned trigger and sear unit that actually creates a two-stage trigger. This allows the shooter to take up trigger creep before squeezing through to touch off the round. The HACT trigger system allows for a lighter let-off - factory set at 3 lbs - eliminating trigger jerk, or pulling off the shot because the trigger pull is too heavy.

Hi Tomas, 3 pounds is the lowest setting I've found. The HOWA HPR features an adjustable, two-stage HACT trigger, set for about 3 pounds (combined stages). Crisp and repeatable, this is an excellent trigger for a factory gun. In our opinion, the HACT trigger is clearly superior to the trigger on the Ruger RPR, as well as the Savage AccuTrigger. And there is no annoying Glock-style safety lever in the middle of the trigger blade.

This trigger can be adjusted down to between 2-3lbs safely with almost no pre-travel.

What action type; long or short?

short action action length is determined by the cartridge. The 6.5 cred is a short action cartridge

The 6.5 Creedmoor is a "Short Action" same as the 308 Winchester and takes the 208 Magazines.

American Built Arms has combined a smooth and accurate Howa 1500 barreled action with their own Mod X Gen III Modular Rifle System and synthetic Urban Sniper Stock to create the Howa Precision Rifle.
