Winchester Model 70 Featherweight Bolt Action Rifle .280 Rem - 22" Barrel, 5+1 Rounds

Great quality rifle, wasn't sure about the featherweight model, but recoil isn't bad and the 280 caliber shoots great....very pleased with rifle!

I have bought and sold 1/2 dozen hunting rifles before settling on the Winchester Controlled Round feed model 70 Winchester. Should have taken the advice of an old friend and saved allot of experimenting. The combination of history, walnut that looks good and feels good in your hands, accuracy, 3 position safety and rock sold, feeds every time action; as well as the new excellent browning trigger, is hard to match in anything else on the market especially for the price and service through Buds. I now have two model 70's both purchased through Bud's. One Winchester super in 280 rem bored out to 280 Ackley, and a Featherweight in 280 rem. Its a nice combination of light weight but potent and heavy and more potent. My very mature (old) gunsmith who was an Olympic class marksmen in the 50's and genuine expert on the model 70 says the new model 70 is superior to the pre-64 vintage rifles. Jack O'Conner would be pleased that his "riflemen's rifle" is back and better than ever.

Just received my Winchester model 70 featherweight .280 Rem. It is everything in hoped and then some. I enjoy ordering from Bud'. Never been disappointed.

Purchased Winchester Featherweight Model 70 in .280 Rem. from Bud's Gun Shop. Price was very competitive; Ordering on-line was easy and Bud's kept me appropriately apprised throughout the entire delivery process. Received product very quickly and it was everything I had hoped for. Product was fully intact, no damage to packaging or contents, and overall process was completed without issue. Thank you Bud's. If/when Winchester ever makes available the Model 70 Super Grade in the caliber I want, I'll be back in touch with you folks before looking elsewhere. A beautiful tack driver! Fit and function is flawless. Butter smooth action with very well controlled feeding and ejection. The 280 Rem is one of my pet calibers for deer and bear and this one is MOA with my hand loads of 57 grains of superformance powder and a 140 grain Nosler AccuBond, should be absolutely perfect this hunting season. With a little tweaking on the load, I'm sure it'l be a sub MOA shooter. I always loved the Savage AccuTrigger, but the Win MOA trigger has won me over..No take up, gritty feel, or over travel and breaks clean as glass. It's a light rifle compared to my Rem 700 so the recoil is a little more noticeable, but the recoil pad does a good job of absorbing it. Buds shipped the same day they received my money order and I had the rifle 2 days later. I've wanted a Win model 70 featherweight for many, many years and it's every bit, and more, than I hoped it would be. In short: A beautiful classic rifle and flawless performance.
