A real tack driver. It's shooting 1/2 MOA at 100 yards all day.

Great transaction, first gun purchase and it took about a week to get in. This is my second Savage (had a 112BVSS in 22-250 pre-Accutrigger) and I love it. This new one is even better. The workmanship is top notch in my opinion, the barrel is beautiful with the fluting (and free floated), and the thumb hole stock is extremely comfortable. I shoot this off a bench and will be used for Montana prairie dogs. Although I'm still searching for the best load, I've managed 0.75" groups at 100 yards using 24.4 grains of Varget with Remington 7 1/2 primers and 69 gr Sierra HPBTMK with a Nikon Buckmaster 6-18x SF BDC. These groupings are fairly consistent but I think it will do better. I really love the crispness of the trigger (don't know what the factory setting is but I like it well enough to not adjust it), the lack of creep and the safety of the accutrigger. I have not shot any factory ammo so I have nothing to add there. Overall, I think the price is higher than I would have liked to have paid but if I had to do it over again, I would not change anything. My other option competing against this rifle was the Remington 700 VLSS Thumbhole which is about the same price but I liked the free-floated fluted barrel of the Savage and the Accutrigger. Those two things were the biggest deciding factors although I prefer the lighter grain wood used in the Remington.
