This rifle is amazing, my only gripe is that the wood is grey-ish. Not golden/honey colored like advertised. This does not prevent me from giving recommendation… You will love it!

This rifle will shoot with several of my more expensive rifles. It is definitely a fine rifle. Love it

I have yet to sight-in my new SAVAGE Mark II 22cal. with a laminated stock, but I noticed the stock is not as a pictured on the internet sight. It is not a deal breaker and I will make the best of it. I hope the accuracy is under one minute as advertised, if this is the case, I could care less about stock color. I remain a loyal fan of BUD'S, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND PRICE STRUCTURE. THANKS BOB HARRIS, HARTLAND, N.Y.

The Savage Mark II BTVS .22 LR has proven to be reliable (over 3,000 rounds fired) and very accurate at both 50 yards and 100 yards. My average group at 50 yards is .34” using Eley March Ammo. My 100 yard average group is 1.23”. I use an Athlon 10-40x50 scope. Buds is great, and the value is ALWAYS the best!! Keep it going Buds, you’ve got my back. John Scherer

Not the most comfortable to carry, but the most comfortable to shoot off a bench. Accuracy is around 1/2” at 50 yards. I have had issues with the magazines failing to feed on several occasions. I have several factory magazines and all have had similar issues.

Beautiful rifle. Stock a little slippery. Have only been to the range once. It seems to have good accuracy potential

I recently purchased the Savage MKII-BTVS .22LR in hopes of finding a good target gun that was somewhat lighter than my current Harrington-Richardson Model 12. Just getting a little older (mid 70's) and needing something easier to handle and set up for competitions.
Well, immediately upon unpacking the new Savage, I found it easily qualified for the lighter weight and easier to handle. But the real test would come at the range. So, I did a quick clean of the barrel and went to the range.
I had thrown a Vortex diamondback 6-24X50 tactical ffp rifle scope on it thinking that would be plenty for both 50 and 100 yard shoots. Started off with just some regular store bought stock ammunition to warm the barrel and noticed right away that this little girl was amazing accurate. But aren't Savage rifles surprisingly that way most of the time anyway?
After about 40 or 50 rounds, and witnessing the occasional flyer, I switched to some Ely Match and onto some RWS - R50. WOW! Is probably the operative word in describing what I experienced after that.
Only shot at the 50 yard range - but seriously - I was tack driving shot after shot. This gun and scope marriage may soon become my go to gun. I know, it's hard to believe I would lay down my old H & R because it does shoot amazingly well. But this Savage MKII is certainly challenging my mind right now.
Simply put - and I am admittingly having some difficulty in the bolt because of a terribly arthritic right hand and the tightness in the bolt, I don't believe you can go wrong with this gun . I like it a LOT and working on a solution which will enable me to work the bolt easier.

Have always loved Savage rifles, and wanted a more serious one for the range. This Mark II BTVS is what I had in mind. Beautiful rifle, extremely well made by our Canadian cousins, eh. Functions flawlessly. I mounted a Nikon 3-9x, 40mm scope myself. Without bore sighting, I said, what the heck, let's see where this baby hits. Tried it at only 20 yds because I had no idea how far off I'd be, and it hit about 4" from bull's eye. This may say something about the precision of the positioning of the Weaver bases. Anyway, I'll sight in at 50 yds and longer, since now I know I'm not aiming at the moon. (Bud's part in the purchase and delivery great as always.)

No problems at all with transactions etc. Gun is a real shooter. I've got it on paper at 200yds! First time I've ever done that with a 22, but not tried before either. In my opinion this is a great gun for the $. But it will deserve a decent scope to do well. I have a Vortex Diamond Back, 4 X 12 X 40 on it with hash marks for elevation and windage. I wasn't sure what to think of finish on gun stock. It looked like a nozzle was plugged when it got sprayed with protective coating or what ever. But I've seen others like that too so maybe it's me. Bottom line it really is accurate. Scope cost me about $240.00 and really a 3 X 9 would have been good enough. Have tried different ammo and shoots all great but Federal Hunter Match 40gr lead hp did best group. Sweet trigger too and is adjustable.
