Great 1911! Took it to a 4 day shooting school and put 1,000 rounds through it and it performed like a champ. By the end of the class, I was shooting nice tight groups. I would compare the Doublestar quality to that of a les baer, Wilson Combat or TRP...but only half the cost.

Need to downgrade my prior rave reviews due to poor to lack of acceptable warranty service from Doublestar.

Edited to add: recent problem developed today which may be a break-in/warranty issue (hammer follow), otherwise, still highly recommended.

I highly recommend this gun. It's become my first choice in what I choose to carry (off-duty). It does not have night sights but does have an accessory rail where a light can be mounted. Either my Surefire X300 or Streamlight TLR-1 lights work fine on this gun using the "universal" or "Glock" sized mounting adapters, which are typically already installed on these lights out-of-the-box.
This gun has functioned without fail with any of the mags I use, typically a mixture of Wilson 47Ds and Kimbers. I also like the ACT/Novak mag supplied with the gun which seems very well made.

Just what you would expect from a good mil-spec. Great for the price and easy to customize to suit any taste. Being a local made product with a fair price was a big plus for me. Any shooter looking to add to or start with the legendary .45 caliber should take a long look at this piece.
Looking forward to getting through the break in period. See me at the range.

I have been lurking around trying to decide which 1911 to buy. I'm glad I picked up this doublestar. Don't let the photo throw you off, Mine came with a commander style hammer, 8 round mag, checkered front strap and stainless steel barrel! I own a Springfield loaded 1911 and this one puts groups down just the same at half the price! Guys, these are hand assembled.... top notch quality.
