The MVP (Mossberg Varmint Predator) Series is based on Mossberg 4x4 centerfire rifle, combining this classic bolt-action platform with the features most highly-desired by dedicated varmint and predator hunters and long-range competitive shooters. The MVP Varmint features a stylish spiral bolt with a 24" fluted bull barrel, the LPA adjustable trigger and Weaver-style bases. It is set in a laminate benchrest-style stock. Notably setting this family of rifles apart from the competition is its unique, patent-pending bolt design which allows MVP Series rifles to accept and reliably feed from AR-15 style magazines. These models have a threaded barrel and include a thread protector.

Did a lot of research and decided this would be my new varmint rifle. Got it in quickly from BUDS and mounted a Nikon Prostaff 4-12x40 BDC with Warne low rings. Gun was shooting sub MOA with cheap factory FMJ straight out of the box @ 100 yds. Cant wait to put some Hornady Vmax down the pipe and see how well they group.

This is an amazing rifle. It has quickly become my favorite rifle. I shoot sub moa groups with hornady 55gr v-max. It takes any ar15 mag I put in it. I love mine. 5 stars for sure. I love the heavy barrel. It really points well and I use mine for hogs all the time and it works great.

on first examination rifle looks great, right off the bat had problems though, the magazine well is made of plastic. I would think that mossberg would make this part metal. the 18" did not hold better than 1 1/2" moa with custom loads. would not recommend until they rework this gun. disappointed.

Awesome little gun! I bought this rifle for my wife to use on an upcoming prairie dog hunt. She has fired about 70 rounds through it so far, and she simply loves this gun - low recoil, nice stock that fits her well and it will shoot inch or less groups even with cheap ammo. The fact that it uses AR-type magazines is really cool as I have a ton of 30-rounders. And, as always, Bud's did their usual bang up job on this order. Thanks Bud's!

Nice rifle, I like the weight and feel of it. I also have the Ruger GSR 308 and this is a nice compliment. Mossberg has said they will be coming out with other versions and calibers including a 300 blackout, 308 as well as the 223 and 204 versions currently out. I tested fit and lock up with a variety of mags and had no issues with any USGI mags (Okay, DSG, D&H etc), pmags both 20s and 30s need a bit of a "tap" to seat properly. I have read if you shave the rear spine on the back of the mag a bit they seat perfectly.

My only complaint is my rifle is missing the rear scope mount. It wasn't on the rifle or in the box, apparently this has happened to others as well. Overall I am happy, I hope Mossberg CS does well with the rear scope rail so I can fit a scope and run this through its paces.
