The DPMS TAC 20 offers a modern twist on a classic rifle. The TAC 20 starts out as a typical 20" barrel rifle chambered in .308 Winchester with a rifle length gas system and a fixed A2 style stock. Rounding off the classic look of this rifle is a Fixed A2 style front sight, and a removable carry handle. The modern twist comes in with the addition of a DPMS Phantom style muzzle device and the Free Float Quad rail allowing you to mount all your modern accessories. When this rifle arrived at my FFL, the BCG was literally stuck in the rearward position. But, because I had this product on layaway, I went through with the transfer anyway. I figured I knew enough about ARs to fix the issue myself. That's the ONLY reason for 4 out 5 star rating. This rifle is an absolute tack driver! At 100yds, I've achieved 1.5" groupings consistently with Winchester 150gr PowerMax. However, this rifle is meant to reach out much farther ie., 300-800yds. The free-float 20-inch barrel has a heavy aluminum quad rail around it and is a bit much if you plan to run & gun. But, if your application is bench shooting, it'll be great with a decent bipod. Overall, I would give the functionality and accuracy (100yds) of this rifle 5 stars. Weight and factory trigger aren't bad. But, if you have the money to change a few things, I'd suggest installing a JP Enterprise BCG, Magpul PRS buttstock, Timney trigger, and a bipod. This has become my favorite range rifle. So much so that reloading has become a must! LOL
