This is a well made STG44 replica. It appears to be accurate in weight and dimensions. Fit and finish, wood furniture are all very satisfactory. The rifle functions very well with quality 22LR ammo. I have not tried any of the Bulk/Lower Quality ammo yet. The wooden crate included on my purchase is a really neat accessory, a very well made item with rope handles and lid restraint as well as markings that give the appearance of a military shipping crate. I also purchased the accessory scope mount from Buds and may mount a scope in the future. The rifle shoots very well and is a fun plinker. When you examine the rifle and it's features in comparison to today's AR and AK rifles you can see that this design from the 1940s is indeed the Great Grand Daddy of today's assault rifles. I do and have recommended both this rifle and Buds Gun Shop. The Buds process is smooth and has worked very well for my purchases. The Bud's Staff have been friendly and knowledgeable when I have called for information or assistance.

This is a great piece of pseudo-history. For a .22 lr it gives you a solid feel because of its weight and the magazines are very good. Purchased a Drago gun case for this and a future AR that will be purchase during Christmas. Been on the net reviewing articles about the Battle of the Bulge and the retreat by the Germans from the Eastern Front: Many pictures of the STG44 being fielded by Waffen SS troops. Watched a video of Youtube where an authentic weapon was being fired: Looked like it may have been hard to control. Ammo for the 'real thing' was reminiscent of the 7.62 x 39 mm with which we'll all had experience: Mine was having these bullets chase after me while I was at a full tilt evading. Bud's is, as usual, superb for service. I anticipate returning to the Lexington store just as soon as my ship comes in!

This was my first by mail transaction. Everything associated with the sale went extremely well. As to the item itself, It looks to be well made, has a good "feel" to it and is all that I expected. The price, in my opinion, is reasonable. The fact that it came in a wooden crate made it all that much the better. Crate is really quite sturdy. All in all, I'm quite happy.

AMAZING attention to detail! This rifle looks, handles, and feels exactly like the original! All parts that appear to be metal - are. All parts that appear to be wood - are. When you slide the stock in place it feels tight and solid with ZERO wobble! Takedown is completely without tools or any special tools. The stock uses a standard push-pin and when removed the entire trigger housing assembly swings down allowing the bolt group to be removed...VERY "military" to say the least! The steel, spring-loaded, steel ejection port cover is a nice touch that shows just how far the designers went to create authenticity. The gun also functions flawlessly...I've shot a variety of high-velocity loads and so far experienced zero failures of any kind. The STG also has a last shot bolt hold-open that works...one could and should consider this for their SHTF planning! The rifle came in a sturdy wood crate with everything locked down by wooden keepers. The "rumor" is that wooden crates will only be part of the initial offering which means they are likely to become collector's items at some point. The fact is this STG-44 is highly likely to become a collector's piece...it's just that well done!
