I bought this gun in the summer of 2018 and have been shooting it frequently. I have never had any issues with this gun. It is cool and very smooth shooting. The magazines are easy to find and not too expensive. Bud's service was great and i will be buying from Bud's again.

The MP40-22 was everything I expected. Fired over 100 rounds last week at a buddies house in the country, zero problems. Mine came with 1 clip so I bought an extra clip because I knew I would be going thru rounds quickly. Also bought a sling because after couple of hours an 8-9 lb gun can get heavy for this 65 year old! Easy to use the sights and stock (need to know what the 5 front sights are ranged for). With the stock folded and using the sights, my accuracy wasn't as good, but shooting from the hip was a lot of fun and I actually hit the target more frequently as I walked the shots to the target. The long rifle barrel was not a big deterrent for me, but I'm hoping that GSG/ATI can convince the authorities that a SBR 22 with a folding stock is not a concern. Can't wait to shoot it again, the local gun range allows this gun in their indoor range.

This is a very nice replica firearm. NOT the typical light weight .22. It is hefty..!! The drawback is the fake silencer on the front that make the gun somewhat barrel heavy I checked with a local Class 3 dealer and he said that if a buyer wanted to pay for a "tax stamp" of @ $200 ......the barrel could be cut flush with the end gun and the silencer (and underlying barrel) removed.....does that make $$$$ sense...??????........well, if you got the dough and don't like the fake silencer then maybe.......you'll have to decide. Otherwise...this is just a fun plinker that can really eat the ammo when you get going. So take PLENTY with you..!! Quality is excellent and I have not had any problems.

So far so good I now have 300 round fired with everything from standard velocity CCI to cheap Remington bucket of bullets with zero malfunctions and good accuracy. It takes Down easily to clean which can be a problem with some other 22 cal. Replica firearms. Overall I'm extremely happy with it and would recommend it to a friend.

Excellent little 22LR "rifle". I don't know many guys that don't immediately recognize the "machine pistol" as the quintessential german soldier's weapon. The price is very affordable and certainly worth it! It still comes in a wooden, hinged, crate that a nice touch! I took it to the range and could easily fire a close group of rounds at 30 ft, using extended stock at my shoulder. I also tried, ala close combat style, firing at the waist and was much less accurate, but still effective! The little 22LR doesn't really jolt you around or anything, but it is a fun little plinker! Extra magazines are not inexpensive, and you will want some. The magazines don't fit snug and tight in the receiver. The bullets in the magazines are also very loose; that being said, I fired several hundred rounds the first day, with only one round not firing between magazines. The collapsible stock has play in both positions. The black finish looks nice but is a little fragile; Just taking it to the range, little dings and bumps penetrated the finish. Nothing major in this price range. You can also easily find reproduction German magazine pouches that fit the magazines perfectly, as well as leather straps. GSG has announced approval from the ATF for a 9mm version. I will absolutely be buying that when it comes out.

Well I am actually going to give a review on this rifle since I have actually fired it , so many leave reviews without even firing the firearm that they are reviewing. First of all it is a hefty rifle but it feels good in the hand. A younger shooter may have issues with the size and weight but I personally like it's size & weight. The bolt needs some strength upon it when pulling it all the way back into the locking position, that may also be an issue with younger shooters. The folding stock has some play in it. Even though it has a 16" barrel with a faux suppressor it feels well balanced. The safety is all black so that too may be an issue with younger shooters, I will dab a little bit of red paint on it so I can easily see the fire position from the safe position. It seems to feed decent, I did have some failure to feeds while using Winchester bulk ammo and Federal Auto Match Target ammo but usually I could get through a full mag without any issues. I would say that it ran 90% of the time without a problem. The take down isn't too bad, you need to remove one screw in order to get to the bolt. It is fairly accurate and is an all around fun .22 rifle to play with, especially if you like WWII firearms. I would of gave it 5 stars if the stock didn't have the play in it but then again this may be typical of these under fold stocks.
