Got my MK22 in Desert Camo on the 23rd and it arrived in excellent condition. You have to mount the collapsible stock and put the barely adequate iron sights on as well, it was easy and took just a few minutes and I put a UTG 5-postion foregrip on it as well. The rifle is quite an armfull and HEAVY coming in at about 6 lbs. but I found it's ergonomics very appealing as I'm left handed and the dual safety and magazine release are EXCELLENT and well placed as well as the ability to place the charging handle on EITHER side of the frame in 6 different locations. Years of having to lock and load numerous types of pistols and rifles with semi-awkward "special moves" makes me want to weep that no one has done this before.
I HIGHLY APPROVE!
SHOOTING SESSION INDOOR RANGE 80FT
SHOT=200+ rounds 4 mags BURNED rapid fire, 4 mags plinked to test ergonomics and feel and 2 mags slow fired for accuracy. Bulk Ammo (Remington Golden HV HP .22LR)
RESULTS=1 FTF, 1 failure to battery (which might have been me "riding the bolt")
The magazine doesn't want to cycle at a full load of 22 rounds but feeds good at 20 (From the numerous reviews I've.....uh....reviewed they say the mag will break itself in after a while) Let me say NUMEROUS reviews discuss SOME weapons having Failure to Fire or Failure to Eject malfunctions after the first 200 or so rounds caused by loosening bolts in the frame and the rail. AVOID ALL THIS by investing in lock-tite and use it on ALL the relevant bolts and screws from the get go. Do this out of the box maintenance and 90% of the current issues with the weapon will not develop. (Loose bolts/screws, and rail from shooting, wobbly stock and weight are the top 3 complaints)
this can be an AWESOME project gun for the GearHeads and Krylon/Duracoat Artists out there. The rails simply beg to be mounted with optics, grips, lights, lasers, you name it. It's ability to pop off with every stroke of the trigger is a real confidence builder. As a .22lr Assault Rifle it can make a great trainer for SCAR owners and wish-to-owners like me! Burning a mag won't burn your wallet and it's tacti-cool factor is high even before you start piling on the gear.
Overall, a GREAT buy! Lower ammo cost, accurate, decent capacity, completely ambidextrous a great SCAR frame to load out, This Tactical .22 can be a rock solid shooter but MIGHT need extra care out of the box.
