Weatherby Vanguard TR 6.5 CRD 22IN, 4+1 rounds, Bolt Action - Blue/Black, 22" Barrel, 4+1 Rounds, Wood Stock

i really like this rifle,,it has the 22 inch barrel, would prefer it had the 24 inch,,,like other weatherby vanguards in 6.5,,, other than that,,,its one of the very best buys in rifles,,,i own a number of weatherby vanguards,,,,,you get what you pay for,,,,,,but with the vanguard,, you get more than you payed for,,,,,, i will buy more,,,,

I got this rifle new from Bud's and put a 3X9 Nikon Buckmaster scope on it. Using factory Winchester ammo It started with about an inch group at 100 yards After a box and a half
and more it was shooting less than one half inch at 100yds. The trigger is very nice for a factory adjusted model. The rifle is a little on the heavy side for day long mountain stalks. The short carbine barrel is great for the bush. From a rest this is a very good rifle smooth bolt and crisp trigger. With handloads this should be a good long-range plains game and varmint gun. Buds price was excellent. This is a very good Weatherby product for under $600. I'm very satisfied. JON, BRIGHTON , COLORADO

I've had this Vanguard over a month now and can tell you it's fit and finish are what one would expect from Weatherby all good. I did however have a hard time finding a load that would group well out of the rifle. After trying nosler 120 gr and Hornady 129 gr bullets which were reloads I finally found something the rifle liked .. 140 grain hornady match with 38 grains of H380. I now get constant 1/4 or less 3 shot groups @ 100 yds.. So far I have not shot it past 100 yds, it is toped with a leupold vx 5 hd which is a great scope, which I also got from buds at a price almost $200.00 cheaper then anywhere else...I have just now had the time to really work up the load and finally get the rifle shooting like I expect it to and will be shooting out to long range targets in the future. Rifle is not too heavy to hunt with and I will be using it during deer season this year. I would recommend the rifle and feel it is a good deal for the price, as I don't think even high dollar rifles are going to get much better groups. The stock is also a Bell and Carson type fiberglass stock which as alum. mounting blocks. All and all I like the rifle and would recommend it to someone else.
