I waited until I had enough experience with it before I came back to write this quick review:

I'll start by saying that I use this gun exclusively for 3-GN competitions. And, in a nutshell, it's been flawless.

So far I've put about 1200rds through it of varied value brands but mostly the Federal value packs from WM (7 1/2 shot) and varied 1oz slugs.

Last Sunday I shot a match that required 90 shot-shells. The temperature was around 20F and it was snowing. The action got packed with snow at different points during the 5 stages and it was out in that weather for about 4 hours that it took my squad to go through all the stages. Even though the conditions were hard and I didn't do much to keep it covered, I experienced 0 malfunctions and it ran fast... In fact my fastest stages were those where use of the shotgun was required.

Keep it clean and it'll run. Pay attention to the piston and use a brush to clean inside the piston cylinder and also clean the mag tube so everything slides smoothly and keep your chamber clean with a good chamber brush. I believe this is key.

All in all I'm very happy with my choice and would recommend it to anyone for use in competition.

Excellent shotgun it eats up everything I put in it. Over 250 rounds through it and zero problems. I use this shotgun for 3gun and absolutely love it

I picked up my Shotgun today and it looks great. Everything is in it's place and seems to function fine without actually shooting it yet. I've shot my friends 930 Jerry Miculek 10 shot and loved it. That would be the reason why I bought one, and Buds had the best price. Thanks everyone at Budsgunshop.com.

As always, Bud's is great to deal with. Even given waiting for e-check to clear, I was very happy with how quickly I got my order delivered.

I would give the Mossberg 930 JM Pro about an 8 out of 10 because of a few issues. One the receiver arrived with three noticeable scratches in the finish - but since I plan on shooting this for 3-gun, I expect I would have scratched it anyway. The packaging was minimal and shims, chokes, etc were loose in the box and may have been what caused the scratches. The hollow buttstock has a very sharp plastic line that will have to be worked down and the plastic finish looks scuffed up. Out of the box you MUST pull this gun down and clean it before shooting. It is coated in Cosmoline or similar grease like preservative.

From previous reviews, everything I noted I fully expected - so I'm not unhappy in any way. I also think that once I get it cleaned and some minor mods completed, I will be more than happy. The weight, fit and feel in general are great - I like the tang mounted safety much better than the trigger mounted for three-gun.

If Mossberg could add just a tad more Quality Control and better packaging, I think it would make a big difference. I also think they need to post something clearly on the gun itself that indicates it must be cleaned before firing. I can imagine this contributes a lot to negative reviews (just an assumption on my part as I don't plan to test that theory :)
