I got this gun a few weeks ago . I took it out to sight it in and put on a red dot . The sights it comes with are junk so a scope is the way to go. I shoot 2 3/4 slugges threw it and shot 3 inch sluges . The 2 3/4 were great ! All five shots were bulls eye and all holes touching . The 3 inch were not as well and hit low. So im going with 2 3/4 and they dont hurt as bad when you shoot . very good gun i cant wait to see a deer. From Indiana Jason G.

i shot a turkey this morning. what more can i say, 15 yards ,turkey choke. works great, um i tried 3 inch shells and the recoil was harsh( but i all ready knew that thanks to the gentleman above). i dont see myself ever shooting 3 1/2 inch ammo. the 2 3/4 is fine. the only thing i would say is the rear sight is plastic (have to replace that) but the fiber optic green and red were just glowing the other night at dusk. very cool... my old uncle asked me" where do the batteries go." the gun is light but i walk a lot so i guess i dont mind. so i have to say i would buy this again. i'm still getting to know it and sight it in at 50 i was getting tight groups(slugs rem managed recoil cheap)the plastic rear sight like i said is crap dont over tighten the screws or under tighten you'll figure it out. it moves randomly on the dovetail is all . so if you dont have a lot of cash and need a shot gun pretty good,of coarse after nailing a beautiful maine turkey i like it even more,we'll see how it does during deer season.

This gun shots very tight groups with extra full choke and is very accurate with several brands of foster type slugs when using the cylinder bore choke. Remington "Slugger 2 3/4 inch 7/8 oz. slugs grouped best at about 2 inches at 25 yards. Winchester Power Point 2 3/4 inch 1 oz. slugs came in second at just over 2 inches at 25 yards.

HOWEVER - This gun only weighs 6.25 lbs not 7.25 as listed on at Buds site. I shot about 30 slungs from bench rest and the recoil was very heavy. Then I tried the Fiocchi Golden Turkey 3 1/2 inch 2 3/8 ounce #6 loads. They made the recoil from the slug ammunition feel like I had been shooting a 410 shotgun but the groups were really great. At 25 yards, the center of the target is completely blown out but my shoulder felt like the target looked. I have been shooting shotguns and high powered rifles for 50 years and nothing else has ever recoiled even close to this gun/ammo combination.

With 2 3/4 inch 1 1/4 oz. ammunition, the gun still shoots very tight groups and the recoil is acceptable. But you are only sending about half the number of BB shot down range.
