Great gun it is of the highest quality at a good price also Buds has performed flawlessly as always.

My first double barrel shotgun and boy am I pleased with it. I was shooting gun adapters thru it and not one failure to fire. Feels very sturdy and reliable. Nice over all finish and quality.

The Mallard came very well packaged with the gun parts in cloth sleeves. I was impressed with the workmanship, fit, and appearance. It looks like a more expensive gun. The gun was very stiff, but is starting to loosen up.
It is the 12 gauge model. I took it to the range and it shot without any problems. The only thing that is bad, I mean really bad is that it KICKS like a mule!!! After 15 rounds I couldn't take anymore and had to put it down. My Friend shot 2 rounds through it and he had enough. I was only shooting Federal 2 3/4 #8 3 dram shells and couldn't figure out why it kicks soooo bad. I took out my old trusty Savage model 420 (1940 vintage) and finished the day, After studying both guns, the difference is that the savage weighs an extra 1 pound and has a Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad. After removing the butt pad, the Mallard has a large hole (3/4x1 1/4) for the stock bolt. I added 1 pound of 50 caliber balls and put a Pachmayr recoil pad on it. The difference was night and day. It now has the recoil of the Savage and is a pleasure to shoot.
