Can i change the back and front sights on the gun?

Yes Brayden, surely can .. or have a gunsmith do it for you. Sometimes that is the best approach as some sight changes can turn into real ordeals. There are many options on the market for sights that would fit this pistol

Brayden, Yes you can replace the sights on this fine firearm. Front and rear are dovetailed in. 1/16th allen wrench needed on rear.

Will a 38 super magazine fit this Kimber model?

Steve, the 38 Super Mags will fit and fire. I would thoroughly test for reliability if you plan to carry.

Is the front sight fiber optic? On Kimber's website it shows a fiber optic on this model.

Steve, this model does not have the "Fiber Optic" Front Sights. These Sights are the Low profile and adjustable Kimber target sights.

posted a Q yesterday with 2 responses, thanks to those who responded. The reason im asking if this model is legal is because kimber only listed 4 model #s on the DOJ website all others are just descriptions of models. smith wesson, springfield, ruger, ect.. all have specific model #s listed. Buds does not have this gun on california legal gun section of website also. this state is so jacked up I just want to be sure before i order one then run into problems, thanks for your time, jeff

My Target II was running 115 FMJ with no issues. I had a few light hollow points that I thought I'd try....big mistake. The gun fired one round and locked up. I was able to remove the mag but the slide is locked up about a quarter of an inch out of battery. There is a round in the chamber and I believe a double feed. I can't release the spring tension on the two piece plunger. Totally locked up....help if you can. Any ideas how to free this action? Probably off to a better gunsmith than me.

You have what is called a hard jam. Take it out to the range, barrel pointed downrange for safety, tightly hold the slide in your weak hand and use the web of your open strong hand to forcefully hit the grip and move the lower forward. My FFL (in the woke state of California) refused to accept this firearm because he said it was not CA approved, here is what he said: This one: https://www.kimberamerica.com/stainless-target-ii Product #: 3200326 UPC: 669278323268 The ca one is this: https://www.kimberamerica.com/stainless-target-ii-ca Product #: 3200108CA UPC: 669278321080 While the California DOJ lists the name, it seems that there are two types with the same name, so be aware.

Very nice gun, once repaired. I ran 1 magazine through the new gun and the magazine catch screw broke. Kimber was VERY responsive in fixing this and I had it back in 5 days and back to the range. No problems as I shot 100 the first time back and worked flawlessly.

I do a lot of target shooting and the Kimber 1911Target II 9mm is my weapon of choice. The action is smooth and rarely jams. Rounds fired are always on target. Initially I had problems with the Kimber magazine that came with the weapon which was resolved by purchasing a better crafted after-market magazine.

What can I say, it's a Kimber! I know there have been people who think that Kimber quality has suffered in recent years but my experience has been very positive. The fit and finish on the gun I received is far superior to the Colt in my opinion and the trigger action is crisp with a definite but not overpowering break and no sense of creep. Recoil on this 9mm is less than I anticipated and it cycles smooth and clean with no hick-ups. Clean, crisp and deadly accurate right out of the box. And, it's a 1911 still on the roster in California! Even better! It would be nice if Kimber gave you 2 magazines instead of the 1 they include but you can always find 1911 9mm magazines these days so this is not such a big deal. You can't go wrong buying from Buds. Great customer service and very fast shipping on guns. Thanks Buds.

EXCELLENT GUN VERY ACCURATE .300 ROUNDS NO FAILURES OF ANY KIND.I SHOOT 25 AND 50 YDS. WITH 115 SPEER LAWMAN AMMO.VERY HAPPY WITH GUN,WISH KIMBER WOULD GIVE YOU AN EXTRA MAGAZINE THOUGH. I BUY FROM BUDS BECAUSE OF PRICE NOT SERVICE EVEN THOUGH I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES OTHER THAN A LITTLE SLOW AT TIMES.
