Took me a while to try this cartridge... I had been on the verge a couple of times, but opted to do something else. So far I am glad I took the plunge. I am getting sub-minute groups with temps well below freezing and gusting winds, and with a better bullet (I am loading PRVI 139 gr FMJ-BT for the break in) and better range conditions, this one should shine. One of very few Ruger triggers I have that hasn't needed improvement. As other reviewers have said, this would be a great first rifle for a youngster or the recoil shy, as it is VERY easy to shoot, and offers much better ballistics than some other beginner calibers. Definitely a superior rifle/caliber combo.

I have been curious about the creedmoor since it came out. With that said I have been reserved to spend the money to test 1 out. But I have never been more impressed with a single caliber in all of my shooting experience. The creedmoor is an absolute tack driver with factory ammo I can't wait to work up some hand loads for it. Now, on to the rifle its a very solid well built rifle and unlike the pictures description what you see is what you get. Its a lil bit on the heavy side but still packable for hunting, and is more than heavy enough for target shooting as well. There is almost no recoil involved so its a great rifle for women and children alike. The laminate stock is a hunters beauty its almost camo the way the colors come together. And it is the no glare target grey stainless finish not the shiny stainless finish. Personnally I couldn't be more pleased with my rifle or the caliber. Couple it with a good scope and you have a platform suited to whatever hunting/shooting application interests you. Its well worth the money from every aspect. I just wish I would have purchased 1 sooner.

The rifle is absolutely top shelf!!! The target trigger is very different from my M77 Hawkeye tactical, but it's greatly improved from the standard LC6 trigger. It has some take-up, but very crisp for go-time! For the look, some of my buddy's think it's an ugly rifle with the green laminate stock and stainless barrel. But, I like it!! Even though both Ruger and Bud's say the rifle image is representative of the actual model, what you see is what your going to pickup at your FFL.

Now for the caliber... The Creedmoor is absolutely fantastic!!! Simply put, it's a tac driver, with minimal recoil. All though, it has a bit more punch than what you would expect. I've only fired it at the NRA HQ range (50 yard indoor range), and am looking forward to shooting it extended range. I've been wanting a rifle in this caliber for about 3 years, but waited to see if it was more than a fad. Totally worth the wait!
