Received this pistol quickly from Buds. Have not shot it yet but have owned several commander sized 1911 in the past. I expect this one to be just as fine as those I owned previously....

I have Three of these.2 commanders and one government, All three the light weight frame. 2 out of the 3 came with bad slid stops causing failure to feed and lock open properly . Was able to fix, by replacing slide stops , but was very disappointed in having the same problem on 2 out off these guns . If you buy for canceled carry would highly recommend you Not trust these out of the box Was very happy with overall after I made repair The commander carries well and the light weight frame has only slightly more felt recoil. I would hope that Strum Ruger Would do a little better With Q.C. for the price paid.

Awesome love the way it shoots. Seems easy to put bullet on target. Recoil is a bit stiff with full loads. But also it's new.

I have been a fan of Ruger since the first riffle i bought 8 years ago and this pistol is no different. I have already put a thousand rounds of ammo through it and it has not let me down once.

Super nice build quality. Everything is nice and tight. Came with a hard plastic case and 2 mags. When I racked the slide for the first time the rear sight lost one of it's white dots that are embedded in the sights. Won't fault Ruger for this as the sights are made by Novaks. I'll just paint them in myself as they may have been made a long time ago so no big deal. Everything else is perfect. I was able to fully disassemble the pistol for initial cleaning and the internals are very nice. First 1911 I purchase that I don't have to tune and polish the extractor and the MSH is metal (I hope you're reading this Colt).

Arrived with rust on rear sight. Frame on the one I received is also a high-gloss type finish, vs the matte black aluminum that I normally see on this pistol. Not sure if this was really old stock/early production run, but it came in a large plastic hard case instead of the white Ruger box of current production...which might explain the rust and weird glossy frame finish.

First .45 caliber weapon and second Ruger I have ever owned. This quickly became my favorite carry weapon. Shoots great, feeds flawlessly with many different types of rounds. Fit and finish is top notch. Highly recommended. Very satisfied with this $700 purchase.

What I can say about this gun is WOW. It is the best shooting .45 ACP 1911 type gun that I have ever owned and operated. It is also very nicely finished, tight and just down right good looking. I say get one of these guns if you can and start enjoying that big bang that .45 ACP gives you.

This is a very lightweight and accurate pistol. Fun to shoot and after polishing the internals, it's part of my EDC rotation. changed the thin, wooden grips for thicker Pachmayr grips with the finger grooves since there is no checkering on the front strap. I give it a high score because it ate everything I fed it, even the cheap steel, and the expensive defense rounds, as well as I bought it for a much lower price than it is now! Thanks, Buds!
