2-3/4 and 3"? what does XBL stand for

Yes, this has a 3 inch chamber so it can safely handle both 2-3/4 inch and 3 inch shells. Looks like xbl stands for (extra Barrel). Buds is the only website that uses the xbl. Hope this helps.

Rick, yes, this barrel has a 3 inch Chamber and can fire 3 inch and the shorter 2 3/4 inch shells no worries. Same concept as a .357 Mag revolver being able to fire the shorter .38 Special cartridge. Extra Barrel (XBL) is a unique (Buds Listing). Mossberg's FLEX is a modular Stock configuration and has nothing to do with the barrel (https://www.mossberg.com/category/series/500/500-flex/). Robert, the breacher is welded on and is part of the overall length of the barrel. It needs to be permanently attached to keep the length over 18" . Have a great day!

Christopher, It should. Westernfield were Mossberg 500s. See following thread from Westernfield thread.---All Mossberg 500 parts will fit your gun as long as it's the same gauge and the action bars are the same. Some older guns were single bar forearms where all later guns are double.

western field models were made by different makers I would see if anyone you know has a Mossberg 500 and try his barrel on your gun to verify that a Mossberg 500 barrel will fit before ordering
