These are the first guns (I ordered two) I have ever bought online. I was prepared to be disappointed. There was no disappointment here. I received two round butt model 10-10's with factory wood grips. The guns were as described, blue loss where you'd expected it, some scratches, no rust and mechanically great. The wood grips...one set had slight wear and one set for some reason looked brand new. I took them to the range and they performed great. It may be a hit or miss with this type of purchase but I definitely got two hits!

Quick shipping. Gun arrived in a cardboard, foam-lined box that oddly had info for an M&P 40 on it.
Initial inspection showed a very quality piece. Marked 10-11 but a heavy barrel. Light cylinder ring, excellent bore, locks up tight. Original wood grips in excellent condition. Some minor holster wear as expected. Absolutely excellent trigger. Sticker on the side says "Melbourne East Police".
Only complaint was my officer got some sort of sticky substance on the front of the grip. It was a serious pain to clean and the bluing was worn through below it. That's an easy fix though and I don't knock Buds for that officer dirtying it up.
Cleaned it up and put 100 rounds through it. Great shooter and a great buy.

I received a model 10-10 with a heavy barrel. From what I could gather, it was a sidearm in Australia somewhere (round sticker on the panel covering the internals). The grips were wood, but they were not S&W and they showed some wear. The gun itself had some holster wear, but overall it wasn't bad (the gun was cared for). I took the gun apart, cleaned it, put it back together and went to the range. It shot great. I'd buy another one just to have two. This is my 4th PTI gun from Buds and every single one has been great. Thank you.

Based on other customer reviews, I decided to pick one of these up while they were still in stock, but my bad streak when it comes to buying used guns online unfortunately continues. In terms of function, there's nothing wrong with this pistol- action is smooth, lockup is tight, barrel rifling is clean and crisp, and the trigger rates probably 3-4 pounds in SA mode. Unfortunately, in terms of cosmetics, this piece is more or less roached. I would put cosmetic condition at less than 50%. Extensive bluing loss around the barrel, scratches across almost every surface, and there is onset rust and pitting on the cylinder, top barrel rib and beneath the grips. It is not yet deep but it is not cleanable by normal means and will require the entire pistol to be refinished, which I have already dropped it off with my preferred coater to have this done. The grips are also neither S&W wood or Pachmayr's but a set of super cheap Uncle Mike's that are in extremely poor condition. This piece looks to be one that was fired very little but unfortunately carried by an officer who handled it extremely roughly. Having this piece refinished and getting a new set of grips will run about $200- I have still decided to keep it however for a couple of reasons. Namely, the combined cost of Bud's and refinishing is still less than buying a new model 10, the piece is mechanically sound, and since it is a 10-11 model, it has a safer transfer bar ignition but no internal gun lock. I would recommend this buy to someone looking to get a quality S&W wheelgun at a good price, but be forewarned that it may require additional work if it is a piece that you plan to keep for the long run.
