I purchased an M&P 2.0 9mm the other day. When the sales guy asked me if I needed ammo, I said yes - what do you recommend? I bought three boxes. What would he recommend this to a first time 9mm owner? I did buy a box of some fancy defense stuff too.

Hey there Frederick. I would just like all have said purchase some range ammo. Winchester White box... Magtech... Sellier & Bellot... all in 115 grain less wear and tear on your pistols and great for shooting paper!! Look to spend about.... 0.18 - 0.26 cents per round and about the best on price u can do unless u load your own. Hope this helps best of luck

Hi Frederick, I would get a practice load that is the same or close in bullet weight to your self defense ammunition of choice. If your SD rounds are 147gr then fine, if not, then match the two weights I would start out with the industry norm of 115gr bullets then work up from there. P.S. Aguila is good ammunition but S&B Bellot is better.

no, get a 115 load.you you. when used a lots 147 load wears out your gun quicker.

Team Colt uses Aguila 9mm ammo in their 1911's for competition. Mark Redl swears by the 124 grain load. It's great ammo. I'd get several types of self defense ammo and see which impacts the same place as your practice ammo and choose that.
