This is an excellent product! When considering a new pistol, I was concerned about the recoil and ability for quick follow up. I can assure you that there is no need for concern! I was pleasantly surprised to find that the recoil was not noticeably greater than my father-in-law's XD-9 sub compact. I put about 100 rounds through it over the weekend and had no issues with misfeeds, failure to fire, etc. using garbage reloads that I bought on the cheap. It is an absolute joy for concealed carry and many times I often forget that I even have it. Mine came with a 9 and 10 round magazine, however I found that it also accepts 13 round mags from my full-size XDm with no issue. Mags were also not too difficult to load out-of-the-box, which is a nice change from other brands I have used. Overall build quality is excellent and I would have no problems recommending this to anyone looking for a sub-compact .45 for concealed carry or home defense.

I recently purchased this pistol from Bud's and the whole process went without a hitch.. They had my FFL dealer on file and the pistol arrived within 3 days. I own other .45 ACP pistol but this is my first striker fired. I took it out and fired to see how accurate a 3inch barrel could really be in 45ACP. I was amazed of the accuracy of this fine weapon. I feed it several types of ammo and it functioned flawlessly. If you are looking for a striker fired pistol with numerous safety features I would highly recommend the Springfield XD 2 Mod. in 45 Cal. In addition the recoil was very manageable.

The Springfield 45 is eveything the manufacturer states it is. Compact, lightweight and easy to handle. For a 45 ACP, recoil is surprisingly more like that of a 9mm. One claim that I really wanted to challlenge was the gun's accuracy. I purposely pointed and shot at the target without taking any real aim, and dog gone if it didn't pretty much land where I had wanted it to. As an owner of a Ruger 9mm, I love my Ruger, but I've got to say Springfield just opened my eyes to a whole new world of gun ownership. If you looking for a well designed conceal carry, the XD line of firearms might be the place to look.
