This gun shoots amazing groups right out of the box. the only thing I wish it had was a flush magazine.

I love the control feed action. This is one of the most accurate rifles I own. Fit and finish are top notch.

What can be said about this firearm? Out of all the firearms in my safe, this one is my favorite. The quality is as high as you could ask for. The craftsmanship is superb. And to top it all off, Buds has made purchasing such a remarkable rifle; simple and easy.
This rifle is accurate, simply put, I can put holes inside of holes at 100yds without even trying. The single set trigger is amazing, and beyond that, I love the trigger without it being set so much that I don’t have a preference on which I use.

I will say up front that I have not shot this rifle yet, so this review is strictly from the fit and finish perspective. I had been wanting to get another .204 Ruger rifle after selling my previous one, but never found one I really liked (or wanted to pay that much for) until I found this CZ rifle. I have a couple of other CZ rifles that I really like, so decided to take a chance on this one given CZ's overall track record of producing quality firearms. When I picked it up I am here to say that my breath was taken away at how good this thing looks. The fit and finish on it are top notch, and the stock is really a beautiful piece of wood. I really like the way it's designed with the Mauser type receiver since I'm very familiar with those already, so I already knew how to tear it apart to clean it. I'm totally taken with it, and am obviously hopeful it will shoot as well as it looks. While I normally don't write reviews until I've had a chance to shoot the firearm, given the current circumstances I decided to break that rule since I'm so taken with this rifle. Magazines for it are a bit on the pricey side, especially since it's only a five round magazine, but given the quality of the firearm I'm okay with that. At least from the fit and finish angle this is one top-notch firearm. Once things open up a bit more around here this will be the first rifle I take out to shoot. Although shipment from Bud's was delayed quite a bit, I don't hold them responsible given all the virus issues affecting the whole market. Bud's is definitely the place to buy firearms.

A great looking and feeling rifle. A perfect fit. So far it shoots as well as it looks. Would purchase again and recomend it to any of my friends and family.

CZ says this has a 24" barrel but it is actually 25-1/4". Very, very nice, very accurate. This one, a .204 Varmint, is not too heavy -- more like a "heavy sporter" than a varmint barrel. The ONLY drawback to this rifle is that like my other 527's this one has the receiver dove-tails milled slightly off from the barrel. Easy to fix with Burris Signature rings but problematic with any other ring. I would use them anyway so no big deal. It would also be nice if CZ would make them picatinny instead of 16mm, but a conversion rail fixes that easily enough. I don't see how I could be any happier. It as was a tack-driver right out of the box.

The CZ 527 Varmint in 204 Ruger is my first CZ centerfire long gun. When I ordered the rifle I was not aware that CZ uses a nonstandard dovetail size of 16mm on the 527. This limits your choice of rings to CZ's four offerings which begin at $64.00 or two from Leupold that start at $47.00. I had pre-ordered a Mueller 8.5-25x 50mm 1 inch AO Tactical scope assuming I could find rings locally to accommodate the 50mm bell after the rifle was delivered. I checked 8 gun shops in my area nobody carried rings for the CZ. Had to do another internet order $67.00 plus $9.00 shipping and wait another week. Not a happy camper that the proprietary dovetails where not pointed out in the produce descriptions or specifications. I have several other varmint guns which all have heavy 24"-26" barrels. I was surprised to see how slim the CZ varmint barrel was. The rig with scope mounted weighs 8Lb 8 oz considerable less than my other varmint/bench long guns. Having just received the 527 at the end of February and given the weather conditions my range time with the gun has been limited to a sight in session and two load development sessions. The sight-in session went well with first three shots at 25 yards cutting one ragged hole about four inches low and two inches right. Since I was using Hornady factory I was pleasantly surprised. Took half a dozen additional shots to get in the black then moved out to fifty yards. Three shots again in one ragged hole so I moved out to 100 yards. I took four shots to move scope up into the black then five shots that I could cover with a quarter. Moved out to 200 yards and quickly had the 32 grain Hornady A-Max ammo in the black shooting sub 1"MOA groups. Did have some stringing issues when the barrel got a little hot but the gun is incredably accurate as long as I do my part. After loading up 50 rounds of 32 grain & 40 grain A-Max bullets with a variety of H335 and CFE223 weights of powder I made two more trips to the range. The gun isn't fussey about bullet weight or powder charge, it produces very tight groups at 200 yards with any combination. The 40 grain bullet and H335 are starting to show the most promise.

Very nice looking gun. Right out of the box great accuracy!!! Only complaints i have of the rifle is the action isnt as smooth as i thought it would be and it doesnt feed well out of the magazine. Nothing i cant get over though. Overall i really like it.

This is the perfect Rifle for varmints. I have been shooting this rifle for a few years now. The 204 is great for smaller game. I can drop coyotes at over 500yrds and completely annihilates prairie dogs. The set trigger takes a little while to get used to, but once you do you will use it all the time. I can not give this rifle enough praise.
