This is the first shotgun I've owned. It seems to be of very high quality. Its been to the range for some sporting clay days. Approx. 150 rounds of 2 3/4" target loads though it of various manufactures and no problems. It is a little stiff to load shells into the magazine, but I figure it will break in as I go. The recoil is very soft, much less than my AR10 .308. I could shoot this all day and not get tired.

When I got home, I noticed that the barrel to vent rib connection had some extra welding down at one connection point. That apparently warped the barrel and the point of impact was way off point of aim. I called Remington and they sent another barrel. That barrel is even worse. I shot it with slugs off of the same bench rest and it was shooting 12-14 inches low at 50 yards. Also, the fore grip is loose unless the magazine nut is tightened with a tool. They sent another grip when they sent the barrel but that did not fix the problem.

Now the shotgun has to go back to Remington. A shotgun that costs this much should be properly made and function correctly out of the box. I wish now that I had bought the Benelli instead.

Bought this for 3 gun competition, and boy am I happy I did. Ran like a champ, right out of the box (as it should). Very fine fit and finish, and the machining is precise. The oversized bolt release, safety and charging handle are nice. The tactical breeching choke does seem to dampen recoil a bit, but even with standard chokes it isn't hard on the shoulder due to the inertia system and soft butt pad. Another nice feature is that it comes with a mid=barrel small brass bead already installed, which for me makes lining up shots much easier with the bright fiber optic front sight. The only things I can think of to improve the design would be to put the safety on top of the receiver (tang-style like Mossberg's and Browning's), along with a spooned front on the loading ramp instead of the forked style that it comes with (can catch your thumb if you're not careful). Overall, very happy with this beauty.

Very nice shotgun although the Remington packaging was not so great. The rail that mounts to the receiver was missing and the box was a mess. I have no plans to add any optics but it would have been nice to have with the gun. The gun preformed flawlessly cycling anything I threw at it from cheap low brass to buckshot and low recoil slugs without a single hiccup. This is probably the softest shooting shotgun I have ever laid my hands on. I am very happy with my purchase and buds.
