Great quality that you'd expect from CZ. Only thing that would make this better, would be a detachable mag.

Very nice Turkish walnut stock. Free floated action...excellent blue finish and a classic chambering that has always gotten the job done on virtually any game on the continent without destroying edible meat or destroying a shooter's shoulder....
Big green would do well to make rifles like this again...Great job CZ!

CZ's 557 is what big green's 700 used to be. An affordable rifle for American rifleman, with a build quality equal to rifles at much higher point. Who says they don't make em like they used to.

I ordered this and got a stupid good deal on it from Buds. Shipping was pretty slow, but I'm not in the "Buds Club" so I can't complain. The rifle showed up in immaculate shape, no issues whatsoever. The wood grain is amazing, and is finished with a light oil coat that I like considerably more than a thick coat of laquer. The bold operation is very smooth and the trigger is crazy good. The open sights are good but the comb on the stock is more conducive to scope use. I do, however, think that any rifle should have iron sights on it, so that's why I leaned toward this one. It's a bit on the heavy side, but that always helps with recoil. I put a Leupold on it and the first group after zeroing the scope was 5 shots measuring 0.97" (including the flier I called)--this was shooting factory 150gr .270 Corelokts. I've handloaded since then and it still shoots lights out and handles/shoulders better than any other rifle except for my 1895. To put this in perspective, I had a TIkka T3 Lite before I bought this CZ and the CZ made the TIkka look and feel like a toy. I sold the Tikka and haven't looked back. The CZ is classic looking, classic shooting. I couldn't possibly recommend it any higher except to say that I sold all my other rifles and only own CZs now (except my Pa and Grandpa's rifles).

Love this rifle, it is beautiful and accurate and I couldn't be happier. Buds also delivered within three days of ordering. Will continue ordering from buds.

I have not had a chance to fire this rifle yet but it came well packaged and in perfect condition. The easy of purchase was really good to work with the local FFL had their info saved to the website and was very easy to get this rifle sent to them. Shipping did take a while to get shipped but once it did ship it was only 3 days before it was there for pick up. I am very happy with the service and the product and I will consider using them again for another purchase.
