the gun fits my hand very well, it performs flawlessly, has never jammed or failed to fire in the 10 yrs. I've had it. the only complaint I have is the trigger. there is no safety per se so the safety is built into the trigger which pulls quite hard. I understand the feature and why it is the way it is and knew that before I purchased it but it is not something I like or recommend. I wish I would have followed my first want and got a snub nosed 357 or 38 instead.

I have read many "not so good" reviews on this handgun but I decided to buy it based on the price and my own experience with S&W. I am VERY pleased I made that decision. The Sigma has since become my full time carry weapon of choice. The gun feels good, shoots good and is very consistent. I have never had a FTF or FTE or any other failure - I have fired over 1000 rounds through this gun without any kind of hiccup. I feel good about recommending this gun to anyone that wants a safe, dependable shooter that will be by your side just ;like a life time friend.

loved it, it was a great gun. Never jammed. My only dislike was the strength of the trigger pull. But this can be easily fixed. Great bang for the buck

In my personal opinion, S&W has a real turkey here. Trigger pull is so long that it throws off your accuracy, a real pain in the back side to take apart to clean. Nice looking weapon, but it's only good as a home defense gun. You might get lucky and hit a burgler once out of 14 rounds, but don't count on it. (it might scare them away, though!) Only giving it two stars because of brand name, but wouldn't recomend to anyone, not even my dog.

S&W 40 is clean and fires well but the system is not accurate. Sites were not adjustable and were of target by 6 -8 inches to the left and 4 5 inches low. Weapon sites should be tested prior to sell.
