A solid performer from day one and pleasure to use on the range. The long slide does handle +P with greater grace when doing triple taps. Overall, if the ramp is polished or many rounds are pushed through during a break-in, this piece is a reliable performer. The grips are comfortable. It's easy to service. Obviously, don't buy it for daily carry. You won't be disappointed.

Initial thoughts; Love the heft and balance of this gun. Shot about 400 rounds through it so far and red box American Eagle worked great, cheaper green box bear ammo stovepiped or jammed, my guess is just not powerful enough to cycle properly. Trying Speer ammo next. Changable grips are nice, looking to get a red dot sight on it soon. Bought right at the end of '09 and got 2 free mags, though took a LONG time for the mags to be sent, then they were 10rnd not 17, S&W paid to return and shipped me 2 17rnd back. Happy since 2 mags would have been way more than the $50 rebate. Having a heck of a time finding a high quality holster for this gun. That is th only downside so far, using a nylon pancake for now with a 5.11 Training Belt and double mag pouch.

Sweet shooter. Rock solid. Weight and trigger pull are excellent. Sights make it easy and fast to target weapon. Breaks down and re-assembles with ease. I tried the laser grip on in the store….sweet! I hope to purchase the laser grip soon. M&P auto has multiple configurations so I did fnd a couple of discrepancies in the owner’s manual after consulting with S&W, but customer service cleared them up. They will give you specific information on your weapon from the gun's S/N. Loved the $50.00 rebate and Lifetime Warranty! Thanks Bud and S&W! Shoot Safe!

Got mine yesterday and put 50 rounds through it from 7 to 25 yards every shot would have been a stopper. The Novak sights were right on and the gun was easy to handle with very mild recoil. With 2 seventeen round mags this gun is ready for anything.
