Very pleased with this little rifle ! Condition of the rifle was excellent. One of the mags had a small amount of rust and some stencilling, but that just gives it character. Thinking of getting another as an investment. Bound to go up in value as time goes on.
After market plastic sten mags work well with a little sanding. Overall a great buy !

When I picked up my gun, it had not yet been opened by my FFL. He opened it up infront of me and the gun fell out. There was absolutely no packing material at all. The gun and 2 magazines were just put in a cardboard box. The gun is listed as "New in Box" but did not come in any box, just the generic cardboard shipping box. Because of how it was shipped, one of the magazines had the bottom fall out during shipping and the spring was loose in the box. Having a 10 pound steel gun loose in a box with 2 magazines with NO packing material is a joke.I've had the bottom fall out of this magazine several times now. The other magazine is in good condition and has no feeding problems.

The gun itself is pretty nice. Put 150 rounds of cheap federal through it without any problems. Tried some cheap hollowpoint remingtons and it didn't like those at all. The tip seems to get caught up on the magazine and jams. Gun is very acurate and fun to shoot. At 50 yards, I was getting 1'' groups with the iron sights. Keep in mind that the gun is very heavy though (about 10 pounds of steel) By the time I would get to the end of the 34 round magazines, it would get tiring holding it up.

Finally got out to shoot the Sterling and unlike my first purchase, this Sterling hesitates firing each round until a 2nd light squeeze of the trigger. At one point it even fired two rounds automatic. Not smooth shooting like the first Sterling I purchased, but, I got it to hit the target . I guess my first one worked too smooth which convinced me to purchase another. Never had this sort of problem with a weapon in all of my years of firing. Perhaps a sear problem. Not sure. If I can get past this annoyance, it might work out. On another price note, I got a lot of help from Tim at Bud's Guns who helped me get a price difference refund after the price dropped a couple days after the transacton. Tim is one reason that i will keep my business at buds. Good business ethics. I have to rate this weapon lower however, after firing it, as squeezing a trigger twice (first squeeze is all the way and 2nd squeeze is a fracton of the distance to get the round off) is not a sound weapon at best. Being a combat Vet, I would not use this weapon in combat as in its present state is unreliable if not scarey. I love anything else I have purchased at Buds.

Weapon came in rusty along with one imbedded rust magazine. Soaking in oil as I write. No comparison to this Sterling and the last one I ordered.
Disappointed that I paid 40.00 more for it then my last one, only a month later, also, and 3 days later it is 32.00 cheaper. Delivery good .
