A tribute to attributes. Specialized features are the hallmark of the Compact and Pro Carry families. Some have shorter grips and light weight aluminum frames—even night sights and the Kimber Tactical Rail. All have shorter 4-inch barrels that make them easy to carry.

Chambered in .45 ACP, 9 mm and 38 Super, Kimber mid-size pistols are an ideal compromise of size and weight. With a variety of options and features, they cover every need from duty and concealed carry to home defense. More importantly, these pistols do not compromise quality or dependability. The Tacoma, Washington, P.D. extensively tested Pro Carry models, finding them to be the most dependable firearm put through the paces in over 20 years. They checked the records, comparing Kimber not only with other pistols, but with rifles and shotguns as well. When you carry a Kimber, you carry with absolute confidence.

Pro Carry II

A favorite of law enforcement professionals for duty and even more popular for concealed carry.

Excellent pistol, fit and finish good and really accurate. Bud's had a outstanding price for a Pro Carry with night sights, what you wouid normally pay for the pistol with black sights, and then usually it costs an extra $150 to switch the sights out.. I have and have had many many Kimbers and I just think you can't go wrong. I know there are a lot of complaints out there about Kimbers but I think that many of them are unjustified. I have never had a real problem with any Kimber puistol or their magazines.
If you are looking for a good 1911 you should check out a Kimber.

I have been buying Kimbers for years and they are my favorite type of pistol to carry and collect. They come and sometimes they go, I have 13 in my collection now and this one will probably be a keeper.
I think that the flat black on the pistol looks great and this ones finish is perfect. I brought it home cleaned it and put some rosewood Kimber logo grips on it and took it out back to shoot. It worked perfectly with White box ball and mixed hollow points. As with most Kimbers this one is very accurate. It was hitting an 8" steel gong at 25 and even 50 yards, though with my old eyes more often at 25 than 50!
The night sights are great and bright and the trigger on this one is excellent. The trigger has absolutly no creep and a very crisp break. I can't say enough about the trigger, it is better than some of my Kimbers that have had work done on them.
It is easy to say that I am extremly happy with this pistol.
This was my 65 gun from Bud's. I have never really had a problem with them and they have usually been very helpful. I usually check out their site every day looking to find a deal. If you are hesitant about buying on line you shouldn't be.

great gun shoots like a dream only complaint is one of the grip screw bushings is striped out in the frame. I didn't expect that a new Kimber would come with any thing like that. any ways I probably just got the one in a million that slipped by.

I love this gun. It is a great shooter and well worth the price - which Bud's of course had the best price around!

Didn't review this one right away, forgot. This is a wonderful carry 1911, light weight, easy to conceal and I love the night sights. Being a shorter barrel it has been a little more finicky, erratic ejection, etc. But am getting it all tuned to be just what I expected. Careful with the mags on any aluminum framed 1911, just a heads up. I love it and I know it will be fine once dialed in, just takes a little more work than a 5" model. Buds service, top-notch, as always
