ATN Rifle Scope Review Was looking for a scope so I could prowl around when I hear something go bump in the night. We live in the woods and I like to be able to do that with as little disclosure as possible. This really does a good job in a price range that I could afford. When I got firmware updated and set up on the platform of my choice I could see over 100 yards with the ir light that came with the unit. Might have seen further however trees blocked the view. I was able to see my dogs (could have sent them to doggie heaven with no problem) in total darkness behind my barn. I could not see 5 foot with the naked eye but could see these dogs at 30 yards out. Not only was it good in the dark but also in low light conditions, case in point: I have some steel targets mounted at 100 yds and 300 yds. I could see the stands that the targets were mounted on but could not see the targets. I was able to clearly see the target through the scope without night vision on, and when zooming I can put rounds in very tight. Something about the scope that I read nothing about was the profiles for it. You can set up profiles for each weapon that you mount it on and simply change profiles and the unit should be real close to ready. So you could have a profile for AR15 at 100 yds and a profile for crossbow, very nice, and was not expecting that. It has a real nice case also, which will get repurposed because that sight is mounted and is ready for home defense, coyote elimination, or just shooting in the dark. I was able to sight in without firing a shot with a bore site at 100 yds. Simply install the bore sight and match the reticle to match the laser from the bore. Just before dark works great for that. It was not perfect but would have been able to take out a deer without any problem. Problems THIS THING EATS BATTERIES! I'm not getting anywhere near what they say I should be getting in the brochures. You can get auxiliary battery installed, however your choices are limited. It seems to be a no brainier for some smart money minded guy to make a battery that will mount on a rail. The choices you have will give you approximately 22 hrs of run time, but I don't need that. A simple battery that would run 6-8 would be great and could be mount on the rail of the scope itself making a tidy little package. If there is something like that I could not find it and am still looking for a good option. The screen can be fuzzy, especially when you zoom in, but that wont stop you from stopping Mr. Bad Guy, you can see plenty good to make his day. I'm looking forward to a good coyote hunt with this thing. My wife needs some new slippers. :)
