I purchased this from Buds with a Ruger American rifle in 30 06. I put this scope on my rifle, and went to the range. I have not shot a rifle very much, as a matter of fact this is the first rifle I have ever owned; and counts as the only rifle I have shot more than once. I had shot my (soon to be) father in laws 270 exactly one time.
I started with a box of ammunition, federal 180 grain, and after my initial bore sighting from Bass Pro Shops was on paper within 4 inches of each shot without a stand holding the rifle with just my arms and hands; sitting at the range bench's. At 100 yards, and all within 4-5 inches of the bullseye.
I then purchased a shooting stand, and went back to the range. After feeling like I was sighted in at 25 yards, I then proceeded to 50 yards, and then 100.
I was able to hit the bullseye and then shoot at the hole that I had created; and was able to hit the target within 1-2 inches of the hole I created with 4 shots loaded into the detachable magazine. At 50 yards and 100 yards. I didn't hit the bullseye exactly dead center every time I tried, but would then aim at the hole I had created and was able to achieve these results every time.
I reviewed this rifle as a great gun, with 5 stars initially; and have to say that that was out of excitement for these results, with this scope and rifle. Both have been such great purchases to me, and I just can't wait to go hunting this winter with my (soon to be) father in law. I love this rifle, and I love this scope. I don't know what else to say, except that if I ever purchase another rifle it will be a Ruger; and if I purchase another scope it will be a Bushnell.
I definitely recommend the Ruger American Rifle, and the Bushnell Banner rifle scope. And I am so green to this, but I love this rifle and scope.
