I had the Hogue 'tamer' grip already mounted on my little 638 because of recoil. I replaced it with this grip. It's nice, my gunsmith put it on so I can only say that he said it was easy. It's certainly attractive and unlike the lasers on most semiautos, is very discreet. Works well, too. Be aware, though, that it definitely does not absorb recoil as well as the 'tamer' model. That grip wraps completely around the grip portion of the frame. This model, like the original grip, only covers the area in front of the backstrap. I don't regret the purchase, and it appears it'll do a decent job as a laser, but disappointed in the grip itself.
