I have looked at this kit for months before buying it. I watched several videos on You Tube the best an worse way to build the kit. I ordered the kit.No problem with sales dept the kit came in good time. I took my time followed the directions. Turned out a nice gun. Really enjoyed the build. For the money this made a good gun.looking forward to building another build.

It is a fairly well made kit I don't regret buying it at all. However I did have problems with the Tigger plate threaded bolt hole for the breach lock not aligned right. Traditions did send me another trigger assembly it wasn't the easiest to get them to send it though. The new one also wasn't aligned correct either, but was better. I ended up welding the hole redrilling and retapping the hole on the original trigger assembly. The rest of it no complaints at all. It was a great experience getting to finish your own rifle.

I just finished my St Louis hawken rifle some sanding and fitting is necessary but it's not too difficult especially with instructions and YouTube. Took my time with it and finished in about a week all together. TAKE YOUR TIME Definitely worth the money, I can't believe how it turned out. The wood is beechwood at least it is for mine.

Thank you Bud's for a fairly quick delivery of my Traditions St. Louis Hawken Rifle kit. This was a fun project and pretty easy to finish. As soon as I find some #11 percussion caps I will test it at my gun club. It turned out well!

Open the package and everything is there. Wood to metal fit is perfect. Looks like it's only going to take little finish sanding, stock finish and browning. Time to build.

I haven’t finished the kit yet but so far things are going togeather well. The only issue I’ve had is with the instructions.I ordered the Harlem kit and revived the instructions for the Kentucky kit. Once I went and printed off the correct instruction I found that a number of steps were left out. Other than this the parts are all made well and have fit togeather with some sanding and filing. It should be a beautiful rifle when I finish and I would recomed this kit its been a good bit of fun so far and I haven’t even fired it yet!
