The Valor V-Bob always had a higher price, perhaps because it is all steel, not alloy, and has the duty treat finish (which costs $200). The Valor was the flagship model with the most hand fitting. Hope this helps, the Valor/V-Bob are discontinued so once they're gone - they're gone.

Duane, this is simply a "Stock Level" issue. Buds prices are tied to stock level and a normally similar priced firearms can vary wildly if one is low stock compared to the other and vice versa.

The Dan Wesson VBOB is the finest 1911 on the market short of a full custom gun. Truly remarkable and a pleasure to shoot and carry.

This is my first Dan Wesson 1911, and I must say it was NOT a disappointment. I own several 1911's ranging in price from a $600 Springfield A1 Mil-Spec to a $4400 Nighthawk Bob Marvel Custom, and I can say without hesitation this is the finest sub-$2000 1911 your money can buy. The fit and finish on this V-Bob is superb, especially the bobtail - which is on par with my Ed Brown Kobra Carry. The 25 LPI front strap checkering is sharp without being overly aggressive (very grippy, but not uncomfortable), the trigger breaks like glass (at just over 5lbs) with a nice reset, the thumb safety snaps on and off with precision and the slide racks like butter. I am only at the 600-round mark, but I have yet to experience a hiccup with this firearm using Speer Lawman 124gr TMJ and American Eagle 115gr FMJ (with factory magazines). I would put this V-Bob up against any semi-custom production pistol out there. It's a shame that DW decided to discontinue this model as it is an AMAZING value in a semi-custom 1911. I highly recommend this pistol anyone looking for their next (or first) 1911. JMHO, YMMV.

the dan wesson v bob in 9 MM is the nicest 1911 i've ever shoot,, i ran 150 rounds through it this morning no problems at all crisp clean breaking trigger- 4 lbs on my gauge.. its going to be my carry gun after another 400 or so rounds, would i buy it again,,,yes!!

My satisfaction with this Dan Wesson V-BOB is more than complete. I have purchased several Dan Wesson’s and all are superb 1911’s. The fit and finish on this V-BOB are absolutely perfect, and the Duty Treat finish is just beautiful. I count this as one of my smarter purchases! You won’t be sorry if you can snag one of these DW’s.

If you’re serious about 1911 I would highly recommend the valor. It is truly a sight to behold. The black duty finish Has to actually been seen to appreciate it. The camera can’t really do justice to it. I’ve had the pistol approx 1.5 years. It’s my 5th 1911 and hands down my favorite. I also reload so I keep up with my round count. I have 8400 round through this pistol. The third round I fired fte the other 8397 have been flawless. I’m no expert on 1911s. I have built two of mine and I did carry one in the service before they adopted the beretta. I recently did a detailed strip and clean. Noticed no uneven wear.sear was in great condition was very impressed how well the pistol was constructed and fit together. I know the price is kind of high but you definitely get your money’s worth.

I wanted to tell everyone the final outcome of my malfunctions with the Dan Wesson V Bob. The second time I sent it back the VP of Dan Wesson personally took care of the extractor problem. He hardened the extractor and tuned it. It works perfectly thank you Dan Wesson. The only objection I have is the look of the trigger. It cheapens the beautiful job they did with this gun. For about $20 more they could have put in a trigger that shows off this wonder weapon. I installed a Wilson Combat ultra light 3 hole long trigger and it looks and works fantastic.
