My last Valkyrie 9mm review, I very satified with the way the gun handled so I decided to plunge into purchasing the 45ACP model. I went to the range with a friend and shot 250 rounds of Sig Sauer and Winchester ball thru the semi break-in period. This pistol shot like a champ, no issues at all with the mags that came in the box. I also was using the 8-round WC ETM mag for testing, no issues there. I even let the range officer (older fellow) try it out. He was limp wristing that pistol like you would not believe, he had no issues. Overall, I am satisfied so far with the purchase, only time/more ammo will tell what it can do. Enjoy, keep practicing and get involve with your local and state governments about your 2A rights. The gun came flawless and in just (2) days to my FFL. I followed the DW break-in of 50 rounds FMJ then clean and repeat up until 300 rounds. Then I decided on 200 more FMJ and a complete strip down and deep clean. Then another 200 self-defense rounds. Besides a couple of ammo failures, the gun functioned perfectly. She is now my daily carry and carries comfortably and quick to the draw. I'm 110% happy with the gun and Buds, as always. Dan Wesson discontinued the Valkyries, so they will soon be rare - get one now, or miss your chance.

Great experience with Bud's. They timely shipped the gun from the warehouse and notified me when it arrived at their store -- I'm local so picked it up there. The gun itself is typically great Dan Wesson quality --- nicely finished, tightly fit. I've only put a hundred rounds through it and had one failure to feed on the last round in an old magazine I have. Dan Wesson recommends a two hundred round break-in and my experience with their other pistols dovetails with that recommendation. Grab one while you can because Dan Wesson is discontinuing this model and the gun was about $800 below original MSRP when I purchased it from Bud's.

The workmanship on this pistol rivals Ed Brown, Nighthawk, and Wilson Combat. Dan Wesson is truly a bargain for the quality product you receive. My suggestion if you are waiting is to buy now. The Valkyrie is discontinued per the 2018 Dan Wesson Catalog.

What a beut! My first time ordering from Buds. Very satisfied!

It is a superb 1911 commander. I followed recommended break-in (almost, switched to HP a tad early) and was flawless in operation and very accurate. I can only compare to the 1911s I own or have owned (Springfield and Kimber) but the Valkyrie far exceeds in fit, precision, and even appears so in finish. I cannot imagine why Dan Wesson would discontinue this particular model. For me it is the ultimate carry gun. There certainly may be better custom commanders but since they start at close to $4K, I probably will never know. The Dan Wesson Valkyrie Commander I received is cloverleaf accurate at 10 yds. I am the limiting factor beyond that.

Outstanding firearm. The first 50 rounds I put through it were JHPs, and they ran like a dream. Out of all of the 1911s I handled/shot before deciding to purchase, Dan Wesson was easily the best fit, finish, and displayed the best overall attention to detail.

This is my 7th Dan Wesson and up front I admit that I am biased. For the money, in my opinion, for what it is worth, there is not a better choice than Dan Wesson. What keeps me buying D.W.'s is consistent build quality, beautiful finishes, reliability and accuracy. This Valkyrie Commander is just top notch and simply perfect in very many ways. I like that the only words on the slide is "Valkyrie" instead of the comeplete instruction manual printed there. The fit and finish is as good as it could be. Slide to frame and the bushing are hand fit for outstanding accuracy.. After disasembly and cleaning out of the box, I went out to fire it. Like my Valkyrie 9mm, my first shot at 15 yards was dead center of the targets red dot bullseye. I'm 66, wear glasses and am a bit shakey, the D.W.'s always make me feel good. I used to collect Kimbers (check my reviews on ALOT of the Kimbers) but all but two have been sold because the quality is not even in the same league as the Dan Wessons and the price difference is not that much. I sold my Les Baer because the quality, accuracy and reliability weren't on par with Dan Wessons. I could go on but as I said I am biased. So don't take my word for it, if you can, try a D.W. to see the quality yourself or check the online reviews. I don't think that you will be disappointed.
